Fstab mounting error
Hi all, I've googled on this but no luck so far. I'm using FC4. This works flawlessly: Mount -t smbfs //host/share /var/mount/hostname/sharename -o username=username,password=password,domain=DOMAIN,fmask=0777,dmask=0777 However, it fails in fstab when I do: //host/share /var/mount/hostname/sharename smbfs username=username,password=password,domain=DOMAIN,fmask=0777,dmask=0777 0 0

Hi all, We have a corporate LAN, with users working in Windows XP Pro. I have implemented a Linux backup solution, which uses Samba to mount Windows shares, and copies files to backup directories, which are shared using Samba, so that I can grab backed up copies of files from a Windows client using the Samba share. I'm using Samba 3.0.14a on Ubuntu Breezy (using the 3.0.14a-6ubuntu

Wrong user used when mounting with mount.cifs
This may be sorta off topic considering this is probably regarding the linux kernel but I am hoping someone here will have the answer anyway. I am having the strangest problem when mounting a samba share with "-t cifs" as opposed to "-t smbfs" where, instead of mounting as the user I am logged in as, it is mounted as if I were logged on as a completely different user. Samba on Solaris 10 Sparc
Does anyone have a successful install of this? I tried installing it via the Sunfreeware binary and even though it installed, the service would never start. So I decided to remove that and compile it from source. When trying to compile from source, it always errors out. I would just like to hear from someone who has a successful install of Samba on Solaris 10 Sparc. Also, if anyone has a
