XP Clients kicked off Tiger Server - not consistent
Hi, I am running a Panther Server as a domain controller with a Mac Tiger Server (all latest patches) as the location of home folders and group shares. I have one group of users who keep losing connection to the server (both home and group folders). The can only reconnect to the server if they logoff the XP client and login again. Problems adding Win clients to domain
I'm not able to add Win clients to my domain anymore. I receive an error on the PC (2000 or XP): "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "[DOMAIN]": Logon failure: unknown user name or password." But I am able to log on to the server when accessing shares and printers. This error message only appears when joining the domain. And on the Mac OS X

Busy file and partial transfer??
Hi, I actually wrote about this issue over a year ago and got a response from Wayne which I'm thinking resolved the problem. Now I've got the issue again, even though I removed the option that appeared to be the culprit. Basically I'm using rsync to backup a directory structure on a 2003 Server, and there are a couple of files that are in use and locked. On is a PST file, and a few

Re: Libvirt Live Migration
I installed CentOS 7 which supported by default a newer version of qemu-kvm (qemu-kvm-1.5.3-60.el7.x86_64.rpm) but this time I got new error: << error: internal error: unable to execute QEMU command 'migrate': this feature or command is not currently supported >> but it's kind of wired because qemu-kvm-1.0 supported already live migration, so a newer version should also

Slow at loading large folder tree

MTU is 1500, set to match 100T devices like router and NAS on the LAN. Even on crossover cable it freaks out the same way. Btw my NAS is a Lacie Ethernet drive with linux based firmware and samba. Security risk to adding users to "Domain Admin" group
Hi everyone. Could anyone tell me what would be the repercussion of adding all users to "Domain Admins" in a samba environment. The reason I am asking is because we are getting a picker object error when trying to add "Domain Users" to the Local Administrator group. Domain Admin gets added ok during join. Thanks. -- Dominique

Windows 98 connection problems on MacOSX
I'm having problems connecting to a Samba server from my Windows 98 machine. Ultimately, I would like printing to work. But, I'm just trying to get the "homes" part to work first. Samba 3.x is running on a Mac OSX 10.4. I can connect using smbclient on both the Mac itself and on my Linux machine. For example, $ smbclient //mini/noelle works. It asks for a password, I type
