Hello, I run a Windows domain based on Samba 3 and I am searching for a way to distribute/deploy software to clients. I.e., a user logging on to a client, software should be automatically installed or upgraded. Is there any common solution? Hi, I've been experimenting with samba4 for a little while now, and some things go very smoothly, others not quite so. :-) However I have some questions that hopefully some of you can help with. 1. In samba3/openldap we have seperate ou for groups and users. The samba-tool classicupgrade migrates these both into one single CN=Users. Is there a way to seperate them, like we had in samba3?

Hi, my question no really concerns 100% to Samba but since I use Samba ... I use Samba 3.0.13 as an PDC and have about 40 WinXp Pro Clients. I was wondering what happens if the WinXP Pro Clients won?t have any connection to the Samba Server anymore. Maybye due an error in the network or the PDC died for some reason. Is there any way to quickly change the clients profile to a local profile? I

Well for a long time now my wine menu entry in gnome has been gone. Most threads I read all say to fine the <deleted> tag in .config/menus/applications.menu but mine doesn't have it.

Whenever I attempt to access shares (don't have printers or other such non disk shares) the access fails (after prompting for password, and performing some level of authentication, it notes if no password is entered that Anonymous login successful).
