Problems with VFS Recycle on SLES9
Hi list, I have running samba 3.0.9 on a SuSE Enterprise-Server 9 with Kernel 2.6.5. Samba works very well but In have one problem while using the recycle vfs with samba: when I save a file (with wordpad or editor ...) to the network-share, a 0 byte-file will automaticly be saved to the trash-folder. After removing the file from the network-share, the real file (>0 byte) will be stored to

Password sync between W2k ADS and samba 2.2.x
Hi list, is there any chance to synchronize passwords between the smbpasswd of samba 2.2.x and the ADS of a win2000 server-system, but without using winbind ? We don't want to use winbind, because with this we have to change our running infrastructure of samba from Samba-PDC with smbpasswd. Does there exists for example a little tool that can be run by crontab to sync the passwords ? Hope

[PATCH] fix udevinfo version string parsing
check_hotplug fails on one of my machines running ubunto 4.10 "Warty Warhog", due to misparsing the udevinfo version string. The problem is caused by an old version of sed that does not appreciate the regexp. This patch fixes it, and also works on debian unstable and SLES9SP2. Please apply... OCFSv1 for kernel 2.6
Hi, are there plans to make OCSFv1 available for linux kernel 2.6.x ? We would like to upgrade a RAC on SUSE SLES8 to SUSE SLES9. SLES9SP2 will support OCFSv2, but if I understand correctly OCFSv1 and OCFSv2 are not compatible and we have to copy all the DB files from one filesystem to the other. Thanks for your help. bye, Sumit __________________________________________________________ Mit

Command line trash ?
Hi! I'm attempting to start setup.exe from office97 package. The installer starts but then bails out with the dialog Wrong parameters on the command line: " (see the unpaired double quote) and then pops another dialog with its usage, then exits. I'm calling it just with wine setup.exe, no quotes nor other characters there. I was trying to compensate this character by putting one

RECYCLER and recycler bin

Using Office2000 with Samba (latest version)
I need your help. I've searched the Internet and did a lot of experimenting but I cannot get Office 2000 to work with Linux 7.3 and the latest-version of Samba. I had no problem with Office97 and other applications. I used the setup /a on a win2000 client to decompress the files so I could run setup and install the applications on the Samba share. The files will install onto the Samba

Recycler problem
Hi folks, I have Samba 3.0.10 with SuSE 9.1 running and a problem with the recycler feature of Samba. Following setup: - User A deletes file F1 in directory D - Samba produces file .recycler/D/F1 - D has permissions -rwx------, F1 has permissions -rwxrw-r-- (owner A) - User B deletes file F2 in directory D - F2 doesn't show up in .recycler/D So all files User B deletes in directory D are

AW: RECYCLER
Hi, yes there is a way. Have a close look at the samba VFS modules. Vfs objects = recycle Recycle: repository = .recyclebin_or_whatever_you_want Recycle: keeptree = yes With this, everything you delete is going to a directory .recyclebin_or_whatever_you_want in the share. Ok, it is not the original recycler of windows, but much better than throwing the files away. Michael
