what requires lm_sensors?
I found that lm_sensors got installed because of a dependency on my first
Xen VM that I updated to 5.3. lm_sensors doesn't make sense in a VM. I
thought, ok let's check after the update who wants it. However:
rpm -q --whatrequires lm_sensors
no package requires lm_sensors
(same for --triggeredby with lm_sensors or the packages below)
Trying to remove lm_sensors reveals these packages:

lm_sensors and Shuttle
Hi All,
I'm trying to get lm_sensors to work on a Shuttle with an AMD K10. The version
of lm_sensors in the main CentOS repo is 2.10.7, which is two years old now.
Support for the K10 was added about a year ago.
So, does anyone know if there are binaries available for more recent versions
of lm_sensors?
Also, if anyone has knowledge of the sensors layout for recent Shuttle AMD
motherboards,

LM_SENSORS
Sorry if this has been around many times before, but I've done quite a
bit of reading and searching for some type of human readable guide for
setting up the lm_sensors for hardware monitoring. I've dorked around
with the stuff in the system here, but after looking at the
/etc/sensors.conf, I don't think I want to delve into that and try to
pull out the right group of settings.

lm_sensors on CentOS 4.5
hello,
I have problem to install lm_sensors on CentOS 4.5 (Linux 2.6.9-42.ELsmp).
I am getting error message "FATAL: Module bmcsensors not found." after I
enter "modprobe bmcsensors".
I got advice to install http://bmcsensors-26.sourceforge.net/ into my kernel, but I don't know how to do it.
Does somebody has experience how to get lm-sensors working on CentOS 4.5 ?

lm_sensors
Hi all :)
Using lm_sensors, I can see few temperature indicator.
M/B Temp: +39?C (low = +15?C, high = +40?C) sensor = thermistor
CPU Temp: +33?C (low = +15?C, high = +45?C) sensor = thermistor
Temp3: +53?C (low = +15?C, high = +45?C) sensor = diode
What is that Temp3? It's the hottest.
Which one is the best to use if I want to use lm_sensor as a general

lm_sensors on Sun (x86) Hardware
Hey folks,
I'm running RHEL 5.3 on 6 boxes - and on every one of them
sensors-detect finds nothing.
5 of them are Sun fire 2250 machines, and 1 is Sunfire 4170.
Googling and searching this list does not seem to find anything.
When I log into the Sun hardware management interface (web interface)
I see that it of course is correctly detecting various temperatures of
things. But for some

lm_sensors rpm
Hello,
maybe you're interested in building an rpm of lm_sensors containing a
more recent lm_sensors rpm (latest snapshot 'r4197-20061007').
Then have a look at
http://lists.lm-sensors.org/pipermail/lm-sensors/2006-October/018052.html
Perhaps there's someone who wants to take over maintenance for building
this rpm from the snapshots in some other repo than the base one... (I

are RPMForge and EPEL compatible?
Following Fabian's blog post re: RPMForge being rebuilt for EL5, I've a
question:
Are there any compatibility problems between RPMForge and EPEL? In other
words, if I enabled EPEL previously, will I be able to enable RPMForge
as well without running into trouble?

Tyan K8HM and lm_sensors
I have a Tyan Thunder K8HM (S3892) motherboard and I am trying to get
lm_sensors to work with it. The problem is that I am getting
conflicting information. The source for lm_sensors says not to
compile the modules for the 2.6 kernel. The information from Tyan
says that I need to compile the modules if my kernel is less than
2.6.12.
Has anyone here configured lm_sensors for this motherboard?

CPU temperature?
Has anyone gotten lm_sensors to work on a CentOS3.3/RHEL3 box? I think
I'm having CPU temperature-related problems, and wanted some way to
monitor it. I believe lm_sensors does this, but can't seem to figure out
how to get it to work.
I already did "yum install lm_sensors" but when I run sensors-detect, it
complains:
Couldn't open /proc/bus/i2c?!? at /usr/sbin/sensors-detect

Tyan Thunder K8SE S2892 lm_sensors Config
Tyan has posted a lm_sensors config file for the Thunder K8SE S2892 at

However when I ran the sensors command on my S2892 I was getting a readout for an

Tyan asking him to confirm the manual edit needed to get sensors.conf to refer to the
adt7463 chip. His

CentOS 4 lm_sensors help for intel D945 motherboards
Has anyone succeeded in getting lm_sensors to produce useful output for intel
D945-based motherboards? According to the lm_sensors site, I need a newer
kernel (2.6.16) to read the ICH7 data. I noticed the i2c patches in the
kernel source rpm, but no joy. I'd be okay with building my own modules, but
haven't found anyone to provide the kernel module source apart from the kernel
