Doubled Quotas on Ubuntu
Hi all, I'm seeing doubled quotas on Windows 7 when connecting to Samba. By doubled, I mean that if I set a 1GB group quota on Linux, I see a 2GB quota on Windows 7. The quotas seem correct with Samba 3.6.19 running on a Linux 2.6.32 kernel on Mandriva; they are incorrect with Samba 3.6.22 on a Linux 3.12 kernel on Ubuntu. What could be wrong? In more detail, I'm testing on both a

Correspondence analysis with R
Hello everybody, i'm having some trouble performing correspondence analysis with R for Mac OS X. Does anyone know about some useful package? And also, if i had found coordinates of points representing row and column profiles, how do i put them in a single figure with labels identifying each one of them? This thing is getting me almost crazy... Thank you in advance for answering, bye

Problems with ks.test
Hi everybody, while performing ks.test for a standard exponential distribution on samples of dimension 2500, generated everytime as new, i had this strange behaviour: >data<-rexp(2500,0.4) >ks.test(data,"pexp",0.4) One-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test data: data D = 0.0147, p-value = 0.6549 alternative hypothesis: two.sided >data<-rexp(2500,0.4)

Help needed with ks.test
Hello to everybody, I'd like to submit a problem I'm dealing with, and I can't get an answer to by myself. I have to test if my data come from a specific probability distribution, of which I know the analytic form both of the p.d.f. and the c.d.f. Namely, it is the hypoexponential distribution, sum of two exponentials with different parameters. Is there any way I can manage the

table elemets testing
Hi everybody, i'm dealing with some percentage tables, of which i should test rowwise if the entries are sgnificantly equal or not. Namely, on row 1, test H0: element 1= element2, H0: element 1= element3...H0: element 2= element3...H0: element n-1= element n. The same on the other rows. Anybody knows how this can be done in quick way? I don't have large matrices, but it seems quite

Shutdown hangs on unmount of a gjournaled file system in 8-Stable

throughput of 300MB/s
Hello, are there any experiences with samba as a _really_ fast server? Assuming if the filesystem and network is fast enough, has anyone managed to get a throughput in samba of of let's say 300 MB/s ? Are there any benchmarks? regards, Martin

Samba 2.2.8a and HP-UX 11.11 (11i)
I read a message from the archives that describes nearly our exact problem that has begun to appear after 11i was installed on our server. File access has become slow and unreliable, especially under high loads. As a matter of fact, I had a logon script running a series of echo -- it was executing them at about 1 line every 2 seconds. The way we "solved" the problem was moving the Samba

Still having trouble with slow opening of printer properties
List, I asked a while back about problems with very slow openings of printer properties windows. This afternoon our main internet link was upgraded to 6Mb (symmetric) and so I thought I might see some improvements in response. But no change. I really don't think it's the pipe that's at fault, there's something wrong with my samba configuration. When I open the properties of a

sendfile questions...
Why in smbd/reply.c does send_file_readX only use sendfile if write cache size is 0? <snip> if (chain_size ==0 && (CVAL(inbuf,smb_vwv0) == 0xFF) && lp_use_sendfile( SNUM(conn)) && (lp_write_cache_size(SNUM(conn)) == 0) ) { </snip> While its true send_file_readX works regardless of the state of oplocks (which is cool!) the smb.conf.5

Dovecot and SATA Backend
Hi all, I plan to run a dovecot IMAPS and POPS service on our network. We handle about 3 000 mailboxes. I thought first buying a topnotch server (8 cores and 16 Go RAM) with equalogic iSCSI SAN SAS 15K for storage backend. On second though (and after a comprhensive read of dovecot features), I saw in http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation that index files can be created on a separete local

with streams_xattr enabled, ads are written correctly but not retrieved
Hello, I'm running Samba 3.6.6-1 on my x64 Arch Linux installation. I recently decided to have my samba share support NTFS's Alternate Data Streams by using streams_xattr or streams_depot. With streams_xattr I discovered that if I copy a file having an ADS from a win7 box, on the linux console, I can see the ADS as an xattr attached to the file. However when I copy the file back to my

Samba freezes
Hello, I have Samba 4.5.8-Debian running on Debian Stretch. I use Samba to load games over my local network from my Debian machine to my Playstation 2 (using OpenPS2Loader: https://github.com/Jay-Jay-OPL/OPL-Daily-Builds). >From time to time, the game freezes, then after 5 minutes it comes back (sometimes it doesn't, depends on the game). chan_sccp crashes Asterisk on startup
Say there! This is a new Asterisk install on Fedora; I downloaded and installed Asterisk 1.2.1 and it runs fine. I downloaded the 20051217 version of chan_sccp, compiled and it installs ok. When I start Asterisk, it dies on startup at the activation/recognition of the chan_sccp module... A snippit from the startup: Asterisk Dynamic Loader Starting: [res_musiconhold.so] => (Music On Hold
