Orphaned rsync process on remote machine?
All, Sometimes when I do an rsync, it times out and leaves on orphaned process on the remote machine. I am running rsync over ssh using public key authentication. I synchronize about twenty-five machines, and this problem only appears on one of them. It worked until recently on this machine. I don't know what changed or what is different. I run rsync with a command line like this

The CentOS Project is going to be in the community space at Red Hat Summit this year. Summit's community theme is centered around NASA's JPL poster designs (http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/visions-of-the-future/ ) , and we'd like to make sure that our booth is appropriately dressed, and that our community is appropriately represented. John Rosatti, Excavators, 3D, NASA and Why Should I care?
John Rosatti, Excavators, 3D, NASA and Why Should I care? Well, because! There are two definitions for excavator; one is any person engaging in excavation is called an excavator. The second definition of excavator is, of course, the vehicles called excavators, which are sometimes called diggers, trackhoes, fronthoes, and 360-degree excavators or just 360. This is not to be confused with

Error Messages after Committed Config Changes
Hi, My Samba server (Solaris 7, 64-bit mode) with AFS option has been running for a year. I just changed the "Max Log Size" global parameter few times today. Each time I committed the change, I got the following same set of error messages in my Samba log (the log.smb file): [2002/01/03 17:40:56, 0] lib/util_sock.c:set_socket_options(151) Failed to set socket option

To Whomever can assist, I am looking for anyone who has gotten OpenSsh 3.7.1p2 to build under HP-UX 10.20. Some X11 programs don't work on connection from SSH Secure Shell
Well this is weird... when I connect via SSH Secure Shell PC client 3.0.0, the server hangs and the client sees a disconnect as soon as the user activates certain X programs. But not all of them! For instance, xeyes and xlogo are fine... but emacs and xterm are not. This is 3.0.2p1 on Solaris 2.5.1. When the client runs xterm the output of sshd -d -d -d is: debug1: X11 connection

3.0.2 AFS login problem, Solaris 2.5.1
I've been beating myself senseless trying to build OpenSsh 3.0.1 on Solaris 2.5.1 and get AFS login working. The symptoms of the problem are: sshd builds (used --with-afs and -with-kerberos4 - there is no PAM on this box), accepts connections from non-AFS users, but does not accept a connection from an AFS user; the user sees "permission denied" after entering the password. Another request for gss-keyex inclusion
I would like to request additional consideration for inclusion of the gss-keyex patch (https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1242) into mainline OpenSSH. I know this comes up every few months, and I know that the current answer is "no" (as stated in November 2007), so I'll get straight to the new information and possibly-new arguments. 1. I conducted a careful, line-by-line

Samba 3, AD, and roaming profiles
Greetings, I have been working on getting Samba 3.0.20rc2 on a Sun Solaris box to play nice with our institution's Active Directory (AD) environment. The AD set-up is pretty plain and I have no ability to make changes to its configuration - a different department runs that show. Should I be able to store the roaming profile information on my Samba server in an AD environment? The rest

451 4.3.0 Temporary internal failure
Hi, according to dovecot.conf lmtp stores all mails temporarily in "/tmp/" that are bigger than 256KB. You can change the directory in dovecot.conf or you should increase the /tmp/ size. It could be that /tmp/ is a ramdisk. Check /etc/fstab. Which os you are using? What does "df -hT" say? What does /etc/fstab say? Regards Urban Am 03.08.2015 um 19:54 schrieb Nutsch: >

Problem with samba shares authentified against Active Directory
Hello, I followed a howto found on samba website. I use Samba v3.2.5 shares whom access are authentified against Active Directory, I have an error 233, saying that there is no process at the end of the chanel (excuse me if my english is not so good). The kerberos setup is good and kinit works fine. net ads join ... worked fine. Except a dns error message, I can see the server in Active
