cygwin rsync hang under Windows Terminal Services session
Hi, though the list would be interested to know an issue we have just come across. We have found that rsync version 2.5.6 over ssh within a cygwin environment run manually from either a command prompt or a cygwin prompt hangs every time if we run it in a Windows Terminal Server session. It doesn't seem to matter what the remote server is as we have experienced this when the remote server is

Hi, I'm about to incorporate scp2 support to our current SSH2 server implentation and I could't find any document (RFC, internet draft, etc) about the implementation scp or scp2. Can't set SeDiskOperatorPrivilege to Domain Admins. (NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER) Error.
Why not set your permissions from the windows server via security tab on folder properties? I set up mine the following way: smb.conf allows domain admins and domain users full RWX access to share (actual access controlled via ACLs) share perms on linux box chown root."domain admins" /SHAREPATH setacl -m g:"domain admins":rwx,g:"domain users":rx /SHARELOCALPATH

[ADV] New version of Flexible Rails book available (Alpha version 5)
Hi all, I''ve uploaded the fifth Alpha version of Flexible Rails. See http://www.flexiblerails.com for details. This is an in-progress, PDF-only book about using Rails 1.1 and Adobe Flex 2 to build Rich Internet Applications (RIAs). The two main highlights of this version are: 1. I have added a new iteration (Iteration 19: Validation), which explains how to integrate Rails Validation

Xen domU''s and iscsi initaitor problems.
Hello, I have been using Xen now for several months and have been quite successful until attempting to utilize iscsi within my domU''s. My research has turned up many posts of people using iscsi with no problems, and I have found no others with the problem I seem to be experiencing. If this has been covered on this list in the past, please accept my humble apologies. Configuration:

Ubuntu iSCSI install to COMSTAR zfs volume Howto
I apologize if this has been covered before. I have not seen a blow-by-blow installation guide for Ubuntu onto an iSCSI target. The install guides I have seen assume that you can make a target visible to all, which is a problem if you want multiple iSCSI installations on the same COMSTAR target. During install Ubuntu generates three random initiators and you have to deal with them to get things

Can't set SeDiskOperatorPrivilege to Domain Admins. (NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER) Error.
Thanks for everyone chiming in on my problem. I really do appreciate it. Just to clarify, I’m working on a share called Edwards_Public. I’m trying to get it so the members of the AD group called do_superintendent are the only people able to read and write any files in that directory. Here is my global config: workgroup = NSD client signing = yes client use spnego = yes kerberos method = secrets

ovirt-config-iscsi : semi-random initiator file
Hi, We are experiencing problems with the iscsi configuration. The /etc/iscsi/initiatorname.iscsi is randomly generated during the node build (%{_libexecdir}/ovirt-config-iscsi in ovirt-node.spec), that makes all nodes have the same "random" initiator file. The iscsi server doesn't like that very much, it believes that come from the same node (-> sessions killed,

making the passphrase prompt more clear
I am going to preface this email by saying that I know very little about OpenSSH internals, the protocol, etc. I do a lot of work with novice programmers, and one step that comes up relatively early is generating SSH keys. In case you haven't done it in a while, the output looks like this: $ ssh-keygen -t rsa Generating public/private rsa key pair. Enter file in which to save the key

Tester wanted for multipath failover iSCSI target software
Hello, I'm looking for test users for new iSCSI target software designed for multipath failover cluster nodes. I'm very interested in the virtual machine such as Hyper-V. So I'm also tuning the target for using VMs. I need an environmental report in particular other than FreeBSD 7.1 RELEASE p3 i386/PAE kernel w/ZFS. I welcome the report with other initiators below. If you are

iscsi target problems on snv_97
I''ve recently upgraded my x4500 to Nevada build 97, and am having problems with the iscsi target. Background: this box is used to serve NFS underlying a VMware ESX environment (zfs filesystem-type datasets) and presents iSCSI targets (zfs zvol datasets) for a Windows host and to act as zoneroots for Solaris 10 hosts. For optimal random-read performance, I''ve configured a single

Using a .img to store a domu...problem with virt-install
Before I begin let me preface by saying I am a beginner so please excuse any foolishness on my part. If you follow this link http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Community+Group+xen/virtinstall ; you will see that there is supposedly an option for virt-install (--disk) where you can specify what you want to use as the disk for you dom0. For very specific reasons I need to use to have this as a .img

Help recovering zfs filesystem
Let me preface this by admitting that I''m a bonehead. I had a mirrored a zfs filesystem. I needed to use one of the mirrors temporarily so I did a zpool detach to remove the member (call it disk1) leaving disk0 in the pool. However, after the detach I mistakenly wiped disk0. So here is the question. I haven''t touched disk1 yet so the data is hopefully still there. Is there

[LLVMdev] Stupid question about BumpPtrAllocator
I'll preface by saying I'm new to LLVM - I noticed there is an efficient BumpPtrAllocator - however, I can't figure out how I can allocate IR objects using that allocator. It looks like all the factory methods use regular new/delete. I'm sure someone BumpPtrAllocator is there for a good reason, and someone here has thought of this use case before. Anyone want to comment? Is

pulseaudio wine
Hi. I can confirm that pulse does indeed work quite well with wine. I've been using oss emulation and padsp together for a long time now, and I've had very few if any problems with it. I simply use Code: aoss padsp wine whatever and it's fine. I don't know if I need to use padsp after aoss after reading this thread, but it's what I've been doing. So pulse does mostly

time series and regions of change
Preface: this is a statistical question more than an R question. I have a vector of numbers (assume a regular time series). Within this time series, I have a set of regions of interest (all of different lengths) that I want to compare against a "baseline" (which is known). There is some autocorrelation involved. I would like to determine the "significance" of the

Zork and Asterisk
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/06/05/play_zork_by_phone.html Let me preface this idea with one comment: I don't have the time to do this - I don't even have time to eat these days. But someone out there has the cycles to do this... and it would be very cool. OK, so now Zork is attached to Asterisk, but using the less-than-clear Festival engine. There are beta tests of the LumenVox
