Winbind using 100% CPU
I am trying to figure out why winbind is using 100% CPU on my file server. I am using Samba version 4.0.4. Everything is fine for a few minutes when I start winbind, however after a while it begins using 100% CPU. I haven't been able to narrow down what triggers this CPU usage spike, but I did attach the GNU debugger to find out what's going on in the process. The backtrace revealed this

Samba 4.2.2 AD Server - Winbind CPU 100% Password Expired
I installed a new Linux server for remote user access using Ubuntu 14.04 and x2goserver, authenticating against our existing Samba 4.2.2 AD server. All was working beautifully for a couple of days, with myself and one other user. Then the other user's AD password expired, after which when they attempted to log in winbindd spiralled out of control. Ended up with several 100% CPU winbindd

First use of cd ~user fails on systems using winbind
Hi. I'm running the latest Samba 4.18 on our dc (Linux - Rocky 8.8), and the clients are running the latest 4.17 (Linux - Rocky 8.8) to be upgraded to 4.18 soon. I've noticed an issue for awhile that is really quite strange and wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this. Samba/Kerberos auth has been setup and working for quite a long time, and I don't think the configuration of

winbind - frequent high CPU utilization
Hi. I use winbind + squid on Debian Buster to authenticate users + authorize them based on groups they are in. It all works, well, good, but winbind's CPU utilization peaks can reach up to 100%. The same solution ran OK on Debian Jessie with up to 20% CPU utilization at most. The configuration of Buster must have been updated based on the samba version leap/shift compared to Jessie. On

100% CPU eaten -- tdb_fetch failed
Hello, From time to time Samba 3.0.2 performance suddenly fails bellow what is acceptable. One smbd process eats between 30% and 100% of CPU usage, and for the machine associated with the smbd process i got dozens of (debug level 2): [2004/02/25 17:59:18, 0] smbd/connection.c:register_message_flags(220) register_message_flags: tdb_fetch failed [2004/02/25 17:59:19, 0]

3.0.25 Winbind high CPU usage
I just upgraded from 3.0.23d to 3.0.25 and I'm noticing that winbind is chewing up a lot of CPU usage. There are always 2 winbindd processes and one uses about 80% cpu and the other use 15% cpu. When I run a tcpdump and look at the traffic going to/from the domain controller winbindd is connected to, there is a constant flow of traffic. Here is the winbind setup from my smb.conf file:

winbind + groups hogs CPU
I've been using winbind successfully for awhile now for user info (nothing in /etc/passwd), but today I tried to use it to pull group info, so I updated /etc/nsswitch.conf (RH 7.3) and then tried to add: valid users = @DOMAIN+group_name and now whenever I click on any folder (share) to open the cpu util goes up, and the connection hangs for awhile, and then eventually it times-out on the

SeaClear II / Wine use 100% of the CPU
Hi! I'm having problems with SeaClear II v1.0.0.196. After setting up the symlinks in ~/.wine/dosdevices pointing to my gps-device (GlobalSat BU-353 USB) everything works as expected, but for some reason Wine/SeaClear steals all available CPU-time. 100% all the time. This problem does not exist if I start SeaClear with the GPS disconnected, making me belive there is a problem with
