Problem with Samba and Windows Terminal Server 2008
Hello all, We have a Windows 2008 Terminal Server which people connect into to run their programs. We are getting upwards of 60 people connecting in at any time. We are seeing error messages from the application complaining that it can't access one of the files on one of the shares. I have read that this problem is likely to be due to the fact that we run one machine as a terminal server and

Greetings list, I am about setting up a domain controller in a little company, so I choose samba (debian lenny) and I did it against openldap. Everything seems to be ok in the server but when I try to log in (windows client) I have a bizarre output: it said that my profile will not be saved. And after that when I try to connect to virtual machine running in the same computer, it doesn't work:

FW: Roaming Profiles Load Very Slowly
Small suggestion. Get this http://www.jam-software.com/freeware/TreeSizeFree.zip Tree Size, go find out how big your profile on you pc is. then check the size on the profile folder of the user. these should be about the same. if not, Logon the server, cleanup the profile of the users. backup and remove the profile of the user on the server. logoff and logon again and check again. W2k no longer has Trust to samba pdc
SMB.conf, smbpasswd, log files attached to this message. I have several W2k Workstations, with a SAMBA 2.2.3 PDC. Looking at the logs it seems that stevedallas (W2K client) is getting validation errors as "visitor" (which DOES exist...) I am not sure what happened, but I must have removed all of the important parts of the server validation. OUTLAND is domain, W2k/ clients are

Hi, I use Samba and cups on my debian-box to share printers, but sometimes, for no apperently reason, windows machines (XP-pro and XP-home), sudently won't print after reboot and this is only solved by a samba restart. Other times the first print after win-reboot, just gets lost, and never apper in the cups-printing log. It's not domain controled, but everyone is mounting their

Shares disconnect on XP when Offline Files enabled after migration from v2.x to v3.0.7
Issue: Three WinXP Pro boxes using Offline Files disconnect from all Samba shares when a user either performs a synch or accesses a file on the share with offline files enabled. About half the time, being able to reconnect for any length of time requires a reboot of the WinXP machines. Disabling the Offline Files in Windows alleviates the problem. Background and Network

This happened at about 7AM, a few hours before anyone starts arriving at work. The mornings are one of the most taxing times on our servers as everyone is loading profiles, and they review what lastnights image / video rendering farm
