Create rpm for Mandriva of Samba 3.0.21rc1 ?
Hi
i want create the rpm of the 3.0.21rc1 release for my Mandriva.
i have used the same spec of 3.0.20b but i have a small problems :
Requires: perl-base >= 2:5.8.5 perl-base perl(Crypt::SmbHash)

samba 3.0.21rc1 + ldap PDC - smbpasswd issue
Hey Guys,
I have just upgraded to version 3.0.21rc1. I decided to re-populate the
database and test if everything is working.
./smbldap-populate -a root -k 0 -m 0 -> ok
./smbldap-useradd -m -a username -> ok
./smbldap-passwd username -> ok
smbpasswd username - > fail

compile on solaris 64bit, static winbind
Hello,
i got many problems in compiling a working samba to use in our environment.
- solaris 10 on amd64 sun hardware
- version above 3.3.0 because of one of our applications
- samba as memeber server in active directory because of usermanagement on
windows 2003
- 64-bit samba because of many many open files
- static libraries because of relocation error: R_AMD64_PC32 with shared ones

Samba 3.4.2 on Solaris 9 build problem
Hi,
I'm trying to build samba 3.4.2 on Solaris 10 using SunStudio 12 but
I've hit a snag.
The configure line used was:

CAD application not working with zfs
Hello,
was use several cad applications and with one of those we have problems using zfs.
OS and hardware is SunOS 5.10 Generic_118855-36, Fire X4200, the cad application is catia v4.
There are several configuration and data files stored on the server and shared via nfs to solaris and aix clients. The application is crashing on the aix client except the server is sharing those files from a ufs

samba 4.0.0 internal DNS
Hello,
after running hand compiled samba 3 64-bit version on solaris we are now
trying to test samba 4.0.0 AD version. Using the HowTo we compile samba
sources and installed it. With provisioning a new domain the dns.keytab file
ist not created. This happens on 3 newly installed sources 4.0.0 and also on a
rc4 source of samba 4. So without this file there is no dynamical update of the
samba

zpool scrub checksum error

i?ve already read many posts about checksum error on zpools but i like to have some more informations, please.
We use 2 sun servers (amd x64, SunOS, 5.10 Generic_118855-36, hopefully all patches) with two hardware raids (raid 10) connected through fibre channel. Disk space is about 3 TB split into 4 pool including several (about 10 - 15) zfs each. After 22 days uptime i got a first

samba produces heavy load on solaris server
Hello,
i have problems with to heavy load on our samba server (2.2.7) on a sun
solaris (5.8) server. We use the server to share data for mechanical cad and
those programs open many, many (e.g. 1400 files in one model) files at a time
and because of this produce really heavy load on the server (cpu 15%-25% per
smbd process).
Trying a newer version of samba (3.0.14a) does not really make this
