ntlm_auth to AD with only ntlmv2 enabled failing
Hello, We have samba 3.0.23 installed. We are using free radius to take authentication requests from a nortel vpn server and using ntlm_auth trying to authenticate users against AD. This setup works fine when on the AD side ntlmv1 and ntlmv2 are enabled. (IE. Users can authenticate). However, when only ntlmv2 is enabled users are unable to authenticate. I have searched various places and while

Many things changed. I've followed (also): https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Authenticating_Freeradius_against_Active_Directory and added in

Winbind problem when exec freeradius
Hil list! I'm trying to authenticate Active Directory Users via freeradius. I can do it in a general case (user and domain) without problem. Now I have to do it restricting the authentication to the members of a group. I can exect the script (as is put in radiusd.conf) correct from the command line: Deb:~# /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --username=javi2 --require-membership-of='AAMM\MyGroup'

searching through two different texts files to find a common variable
You probably want to use the merge() function. imaginary example for data frames named "KS" and "US," where the common identifier variable is named "ID" merged.data<-merge(KS,US,by.x="ID",by.y="ID",all.x=F,all.y=F) Note that this will retain only observations for which there is a common ID in both KS and US. If you want to keep observations

802.1x support in wired sip hardphones ?
Hi, Is anyone aware of a wired sip hardphone supporting 802.1x authentication ? I've been told some Avaya and Alcatel ip phones supported 802.1x. As 802.1x is widely used with wireless hardphones, I'm wondering whether or not, 802.1x could also be valuable for wired environments. FreeRadius + Dynamic VLANs/802.1x Authentication
Has anyone setup FreeRadius to do automatic VLAN assignments on their switches based on client mac addresses? If so, would you be willing to share your radius configs? I haven't touched radius since mid 90's and am stuck trying to get this to work. It would be much appreciated. thanks -- -matt

OT - Cisco IP Phone and PC in diferent VLANs (with 802.1x)
Hello to all I would like to know If some of you have already configured an Cisco IP Phone (7940 or 7960) to work in a different VLAN than the PC that is connected through the phone switch? I know that this can be done with the Skinny firmware, but I dont if it works with the SIP firmware. The Cisco technical staff told me that these phones dont support 802.1x but can work as pass-through.

OT - Cisco IP Phone and PC in diferent VLANs(with 802.1x)
Cisco phones act a as a switch. If you do not use the CDP protocol to "tell" the phone it needs to be in a special VLAN (802.1q) then it will just use the access port settings on the switch, and, also allow the PC connected to the 2nd Ethernet port to have access to the network. However, if you have an all cisco powered network, with all cisco phones, I could advise you to use the CDP
