mapping with username: "user@domain" failed
Hi All, When trying to map my SAMBA share from WinXP, it prompted me for name and password but it failed when I used name@domain.com However, using "domain\name" worked. Any idea why my SAMBA server didn't accept this name style name@domain ? Assume: Realm (AD domain): domain.com Pre-windows2000: domain Username: name Samba server: 3.0.7 (soon will switch to latest) Am

Joined 2 samba servers to ADS but kinit in winbindd failed for one of them!
Hi All, I have strange situation in which two systems running SAMBA (same version) have successfully joined an ADS. However one has no problem using wimbindd/ wbinfo to communicate with the domain and kinit in winbindd works fine. But the other is failing with a kinit problem as following: 2006/08/21 20:15:56, 0, pid=19247] libads/kerberos.c:ads_kinit_password(146)

Hi! wbinfo -u fails on RHEL5
Hi guys, Pulling my hair out... Version: RHEL5 straight off the CDs, no patches. Active Directory: Win2003 with SP2 I'm experiencing confusing problems when logging onto an Active Directory system. I have gotten it to work perfectly, but after a few days/weeks it screws up for no apparent reason. Windows XP clients still work perfectly. Linux clients show signature and packet errors,

Joining a domain controller with a conflict name
Hi All, Is it a way to prevent joining a domain with a netbios name that already used by other domain member?. For example, if I have SAMBA server "SA1" already joined a domain and then I go to a different SAMBA server and make it join the same domain with the name "SA1" also. What I found out is that the domain controller does not care and it will let me join the

Win2003 ADS, wbinfo -u and -g almost works
I've been chasing this problem for several days. I have taken the 3.0.26a Fedora 7 SRPM from the Samba FTP site and rebuilt it on RedHat EL5 and installed it. It runs, but it has exactly the same problem as the original 3.0.23c version. I can join the domain and 'wbinfo -t' returns OK. However, 'wbinfo -g' returns only two groups then gives a failure message and

On both Samba 4.5.1 member server and Samba 3.6.25 member server I tried the following command wbinfo –set-uid-mapping=35049,S-1-5-21-xx-xx-xxx-xxx this should have created a mapping entry consistent with the one on the domain controller for a trusted user But I got the following error failed to call wbcSetUidMapping: WBC_ERR_NOT_IMPLEMENTED As far as I can tell from network

3.0.23pre1 trusted domain failed
Hi, Recently, upgrade samba from 3.0.14a to 3.0.23pre1. And found trusted domain user couldn't logon to Samba share. The command nsquery to query a user from trusted domain failed also. For example: parent.com Win2003 DC |---Child1.parent.com Win2003 DC |---Child2.parent.com Win2003 DC Kinit OK. Net ads join to Child1 OK. Restart the server with winbindd. Wbinfo -m can display trusted
