Citing R
I know that this general question has been asked before, but I have encountered a picky reviewer. In the 'standard' reference for R: R. Gentleman and R. Ihaka (1997). "The R language", In Proceedings of the 28th Symposium on the Interface, L. Billard and N. Fisher Eds. The Interface Foundation of North America. is there a geographical location for the publisher and perhaps

Sweave: Changing the background color, adding a border
Hi all, I am using Sweave to produce a document. Unfortunately, I have to print several copies and I can't print them in color. So I would like to change the way of printing the code. I would like to print the code in a box with a black borderline and a grey background (quite classic). Is it possible to do it by changing some Schunk options? Christophe

[LLVMdev] Disable vectorization for unaligned data
Ok any quick workaround to limit vectorization to 16-byte aligned 128-bit data then? All the memory copying done by ExpandUnalignedStore/ExpandUnalignedLoad is just too expensive. Portability of a C function
Hi the list, In a package P1, I write a function f1 in C, potentially an internal function (not to be called from R). In a package P2, I write a function f2 in C. The f2 function needs to use f1 from P1. Is it possible ? --- 8< ---- In file P1.c --------- double f1(x,y){ .... } --- 8< ---- In file P2.c --------- void f2(x,y,z){ double result; .... result = f1(x,y); .... }

S4 dispatch for .DollarNames (utils)
Hello, I'm trying to make .DollarNames generic and implement a method for it in a package. .DollarNames is the function that is now called to get completion possibilities. Deleted documents not deleted
I seem to be seeing cases where I call db.delete_document(somedocid) with no error, then flush() and delete the database object, but the document is still there after process exit. The write lock is normally deleted, so it appears that the database close finished normally. If I then then call delete_document(somedocid) from another command/process, this time it goes away. I've been seeing

wbinfo -u does not listed trusted users, wbinfo -n works
Running a mix of samba versions (3.6.25 and 4.5.1) in two domains- one "classic" (with samba domain controllers) and one AD (with windows domain controllers.) The eventual goal is to drop the classic domain in favor of the AD domain. Also trying to move from samba 3.x to 4.x since Samba 3 is EOL'd. the "wbinfo -u" command will list users in the servers domain

xapian-config --libs output on Suse 10.1
On Suse 10.1, xapian-config --libs outputs the following: -L/usr/lib -lxapian -L/usr/lib -lstdc++ -lm -lgcc_s -lc -lgcc_s -lm -lgcc_s -lc -lgcc_s The usual output on other linuxes seems to be like -L/where/is/lib/ -lxapian This causes a problem when trying to perform a static link with xapian, because there does not seem to exist a libgcc_s.a Actually, I am not quite sure about what

Is possible use BIND9 as DNS Back End on a new Samba DC?
Hi everyone, I have a question: is possible use BIND9 as DNS backend on a new Samba DC that will join into a domain where there are Samba DCs are using Samba Internal DNS server? I know that is a trivial question for someone, but I've followed steps described on wiki's topic "Joining a Samba DC to an Existing Active Directory" and in "Preparing the Host for Joining the

shared descriptions -- a couple of issues
Hello All, I''ve just upgraded to rspec/rspec_on_rails 0.9.3 and am very excited about shared descriptions. They couldn''t have come at a better time: I just finished refactoring some REST controllers so that the bulk of the actions are inherited from a superclass. Now I can write the specs once, too. :) I''ve hit a couple of snags, though. I thought I''d

High Performance containers
Hi, Let me present myself : I work on High Performance Computing, mainly on number crunching where the languages used are mainly Fortran and C++. This field is moving more and more from pure number crunching where Fortran shines to a mix of numbers, texts and other data that you cannot easily deal with Fortran. Unfortunately, the C++ standard library suffers from its age and the fact that it has
