2.2.8a, win me locking (?) problem
Hello!
We have application written in Borland Delphi, with BDE 5
(unfortunately, I have no sources :-( )
It creates mdx files on samba share.
All is OK with w2k or win98, but with Win ME programs says that file is
busy, when it tries to create mdx (index ) file.
If it says that file is busy it is impossible to create this file from
another machine with w2k or win98- program says that file

Help with configuration of winbind and idmap backend = ad
Hello all,
I have an interesting situation that I'm trying to get working. At this
point, I'm not sure if it's possible to do what I want with my
configuration. I will start by explaining my situation.
I have a primarily windows network in my organization. I also have quite
a few UNIX systems as build servers. All these systems share 1 file
server (currently a Netapp, but I am moving

Disabling Password authenitication with SSH
Hello everyone,
We are setting up a server at work, and we have run into something that
I am not sure how to resolve.
We have set up sshd (OpenSSH server) on the machine. We have placed ssh
keys into each user's home directory that needs to access the system
(and they work). We want to disable everyone from logging in, using a
password, utilizing ssh keys only to access the system.
I have

No Custom Validation
Hi,
Correct me if I am wrong but there doesn''t seem to be an easy way to add
validation outside the pre-built ones (validates_presence_of,
validates_lenght_of, etc.).
Ideally there should be something like:
Class Person < ActiveRecord::Base
validates :my_method, :on => create, :message => ''was not valid''
def my_method(param)
false unless

Logistic regression with more than two choices
Dear all R-users,
I am a new user of R and I am trying to build a discrete choice model (with
more than two alternatives A, B, C and D) using logistic regression. I have
data that describes the observed choice probabilities and some background
information. An example below describes the data:
Sex Age pr(A) pr(B) pr(C) pr(D) ...
1 11 0.5 0.5 0 0
1 40 1 0 0 0
0 34 0 0 0 1
0 64 0.1 0.5 0.2 0.2
...

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
I would check disks status and accessibility of mount points where your
gluster volumes reside.

Adding Ravi to look into the heal issue.
As for the fsync hang and subsequent IO errors, it seems a lot like
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1497156 and Paolo Bonzini from
qemu had pointed out that this would be fixed by the following commit:

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
[Adding gluster-users back]
Nothing amiss with volume info and status.
Can you check the agent.log and broker.log - will be under
/var/log/ovirt-hosted-engine-ha/
Also the gluster client logs - under
/var/log/glusterfs/rhev-data-center-mnt-glusterSD<volume>.log

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
I've been back at it, and still am unable to get more than one of my
physical nodes to come online in ovirt, nor am I able to get more than the
two gluster volumes (storage domains) to show online within ovirt.
In Storage -> Volumes, they all show offline (many with one brick down,
which is correct: I have one server off)
However, in Storage -> domains, they all show down (although

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
Hi all again:
I'm now subscribed to gluster-users as well, so I should get any replies
from that side too.
At this point, I am seeing acceptable (although slower than I expect)
performance much of the time, with periodic massive spikes in latency
(occasionally so bad as to cause ovirt to detect a engine bad health
status). Often, if I check the logs just then, I'll see those call traces

proposal: 'dev.capabilities()' can also query Unicode capabilities of current graphics device
Hi,
It would be nice if `grDevices::dev.capabilities()` could also be used to
query whether the current graphics device supports Unicode. In such a case
I'd expect it to return `FALSE` if `pdf()` is the current graphics device
and something else for the Cairo or Quartz devices.
Thanks,
Trevor

[ovirt-users] Re: Gluster problems, cluster performance issues
The profile seems to suggest very high latencies on the brick at
ovirt1.nwfiber.com:/gluster/brick1/engine
ovirt2.* shows decent numbers. Is everything OK with the brick on ovirt1?
Are the bricks of engine volume on both these servers identical in terms of
their config?

hatvalues?
I am struiggling a bit with this function 'hatvalues'. I would like a little more undrestanding than taking the black-box and using the values. I looked at the Fortran source and it is quite opaque to me. So I am asking for some help in understanding the theory. First, I take the simplest case of a single variant. For this I turn o John Fox's book, "Applied Regression Analysis

More Capability for Capabilities
Good day,
The capabilities function gives a logical result of which features R has been compiled with. Is there a more advanced variety of the function that will give the version number of the library, or its system path, rather than simply TRUE ?
