Samba segment faulting - unknown cause
Hello,
Recently our Samba server has started segment faulting. It happens occasionally, but is often enough to cause disruption.
People notice thier network drives freeze, I am unsure of the cause of the segment fault, and have no experience debugging backtraces.
Can anoyone lend a hand?

Samba-LDAP TLS problems with inofficial Debian OpenLDAP 2.2 packages
Dear Torsten, dear samba list reader
Three days ago I switched our domain from a NT 4 domaincontroller to
Samba-OpenLDAP, controlled by a Debian Sarge system. I installed the
following inofficial Debian OpenLDAP 2.2 packages (I know these are not
supported, but TLS with OpenSSL is essential to us...):
Package: slapd
Version: 2.2.20-1.hrz.1
Package: libldap2.2
Version: 2.2.20-1.hrz.1

SAMBA install on IRIX 6.5
I am having problems with Samba on IRIX 6.5 authenticating via Active
Directory. Installing the tardist of 3.0.21c did not give me
kerberos/ldap/adc capabilities even though Kerberos and LDAP were
prereq's. With OpenLDAP and Kerberos5 installed, my configure fails. I
am trying this:
./configure --libdir=/usr/lib --includedir=/usr/include
--prefix=/usr/samba --with-ldap --with-ads

Samba 3.0.23c PANIC with LDAP
Hello again,
Here is description of my first problem I encountered during setting up
samba 3.0.23c and LDAP 2.3.28. Linux box is one of intel server
platforms and debian etch (unstable) on board. Debian has its own ldap
libraries in /usr/ldap.... and there are more then one but with
different version ldap files. Despite of these I always compile almost
everything from sources so this time I

Error starting Samba
Hello,
My samba was working until I changed some configurations in order for it to
work with ldap. However, samba won't start now, even after I returned to my
old configuration. Here is the error I'm getting:

http://xi.rename-it.nl 2.2.16-1~auto+10/11/12/13: segfault /var/lib/dovecot/auth OR (db_ldap_connect_delayed):
hi,
I testing around with Kolab with LDAP and have some strange problems, with the auto generated packages for Wheezy.
On my first test VM, I have 2:2.2.16~rc1-1~auto+4 installed, and everything works as expected. On a new VM I have 2.2.16-1~auto+13_amd64.deb packages and if I include LDAP backend, I get a segmentation fault on /usr/lib/dovecot/auth:

smbd panic on security = ADS
I have a samba server that was updated to samba v3.0.22 and is not working.
It is a fileserver for the network, it's a member of the ADS and it was
working perfectly up until saturday.
It doesn't panic when I change security = ADS to security = server,
unfortunately I need ADS auth.
I've tried to down grade back to 3.0.14a with no luck, It looks like it

compiling libldap error??
Samba experts,
Ok, we are having so many problems getting ldap to work, we decided to
start over with our compile. We are compiling Samba --with-ldap on our AIX
5.1 system which uses gcc. Openldap (for client support) exists in
/usr/local/openldap/2.2.17. In order for Samba to find the ldap.h file,
we had to configure with
CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/openldap/2.2.17/include"

INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 8928 (3.0.23c)
Hello!
It seems my struggle with Samba isn't quite over. My latest problem is
exactly what you see above, followed by an attempt to core dump. This
occurs upon authentication to the system. My system is part of a W2K3
domain. I looked at the Samba HOWTO, but apparently I have a system
(FC5), that doesn't allow core dumps when the PID changes, since no core
dumps are being created.

RE: [SLE] SuSE 9.3 and Latest Binaries - Library Conflict
Cross-posting scares me, but...
Have you looked at the latest RPMs for SuSE, from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/samba/ ?
They've worked like a charm for me, thus far (revision after revision, a simple rpm -U * seems to work...)

SuSE 9.3 samba binaries FUBAR??
Mates,
I dunno if nobody else is using the samba binaries to put 3.0.20-1 on
SuSE 9.3 -- or -- if I'm just doing something stupid, but there seem to be
library problems. Specifically, we are getting library errors for the *.so.2
libraries, regardless of whether we try via YAST or RPM.

winbind + rpc windows
Hi,
I've managed to configure winbind to use RPC instead of AD to
authenticate users. I was able to do a few auths and from nothing
winbind started to crash with the following error message:
Any hint on what may be the error?
I've already deleted all tdb files and restarted the services, and the
server, and don't get it solved.

Vegan problem
Hi All,
I am trying to perform CCA and RDA several times to compare their
performances. To do that I put this two functions of vegan package inside a
for loop. Unfortunatly when I am trying to perform the anova(by=axis) to
test the individual axes the function don't recognize the species
data.frame. The same problem occurs whem I try to run forward selection.
The same problem occur when I try
