Samba 2.2.7a - adduser script only worked the first time
I have WinXP machines loging into a samba domain. I am using this add user script:
add user script = useradd -d /dev/null -g 300 -s /bin/false -M %u
This worked beautifully with the first WinXP machine I set up. I immediately
booted up a second machine and got the "Access Denied" error. I have tried two
more computers since and keep getting the same thing but the first machine still

How to make the playlist repeat
Good afternoon,
I have two playlists going, on separate mount points, and they both
exhibit this behavior. It appears that ices is shutting down when it
reaches the end of the playlist. I'm getting these same four lines at
the end of the logs of both playlists:

What is the minimum ISO to build a server?
Can I use the -
CentOS-5.2-i386-netinstall.iso<http://mirror.its.uidaho.edu/pub/centos/5.2/isos/i386/CentOS-5.2-i386-netinstall.iso>
or CentOS-5.2-i386-LiveCD.iso<http://mirror.its.uidaho.edu/pub/centos/5.2/isos/i386/CentOS-5.2-i386-LiveCD.iso>

Or all of the ISO's?
Thanks in advance
Chuck

Base install not on first CD with centos5?
I have everything unchecked in my package selection screen except for
the default packages in "base" and it wants CDs 1, 2 and 3.
Is this an upstream problem or centos problem? How should I follow up
on this? A bug report in centos's bugzilla?

centos 5.1 i386 on a 1GIG flash
I have found this link http://owlriver.com/tips/tiny-centos
for installing centos on a minimal system. I am looking at putting
centos on a 1 GIG flash drive. The above page talks about removing packages
after install to attain the small size.
however, I am getting blocked at the install page about not enough room
to install.
All I have selected is the base package. nothing else.
Is there a way

CentOS 5 Minimal Install
Performing a test install of CentOS 5, I no longer have the capability
of requesting a minimal install as their was in CentOS 4. Is there
any possibility this could added back in before final release?
Thank you,

looking for 4.2 minimal kickstart
Hi
I am looking for an example of a kickstart file for a simple, minimal
server install. I don't need any graphical apps just ssh, httpd and
development tools. It seems that even when I specify only the packages I
want many other packages are installed making the install very large.
Any links to guides or example kickstart files would be great.
Thanks,
Andrew Zahn

How to make the playlist repeat
Good morning,
I'm using the deb package provided with Debian buster.
Output of 'apt search ices2' --> ices2/stable,now 1:2.0kh60a-dmo4 amd64 [installed]
So I should probably remove that, and build it from source then.

4.4 i386 Server CD actually 64-bit?
Just downloaded the CentOS 4.4 i386 Server CD. The md5sum on the file
matches:
My file: 8ccb89265b16ca551bd04a15b3cf59a1 (CentOS-4.4.ServerCD-i386.iso)
md5sum.servercd: 8ccb89265b16ca551bd04a15b3cf59a1 (CentOS-4.4.ServerCD-i386.iso)
However, when I boot up with the CD on a Compaq Armada E500 laptop (Pentium

I do the same, but my question is: how to do that the other way around?
Let's say you start from the base system, then install a couple dozen
command-line utilities from cowsay to whois, then you install the "X

Cleaning Up My Process Table
I'm upgrading my primary server from RH 7.2 to CentOS-4.3.ServerCD. I
REALLY like the ServerCD. Who needs all the fluff that comes with a
standard distro? If I want a system-config-gooey I can run Xnest [1]
and ssh -X from my laptop. Anyway I have two questions:
1) How can I collectively stop all the NFS, portmap, whatever? I'm hoping
it can be manipulated as a group because occationally

Smallest install?
I have a 500Mb ATA Flash drive in my machine. If I deselect everything at
install time (CentOS 5.0 - just for testing) it still requires 524Mb. Is
there any way of doing an even smaller install?

I'm building some new servers next week, and I'm wondering if I
should wait for the 4.3 ServerCD or just use the 4.2 ServerCD. Is
there an ETA on 4.3?
Thanks for the great work,

PSTN/phone/FXO/FXS cabling issue
I just received a Wildcard TDM400P by FedEx yesterday. I noticed that
the FXO/FXS modules use connectors similar to Ethernet.
Now, i want to connect the TDM400P to the PSTN connector in the wall,
and also to a regular analog phone. Both the PSTN conn and the phone use
smaller connectors, typical for analog phones.
I searched the "official" docs and the Wiki, there's good
