Solaris 8 and winbindd/wbinfo
Hi All,
I cannot get my Samba server 2.2.8 working with winbind correctly on Solaris
8.
I intend to use this to transparently authenticate squid 2.5stable2.
I compiled samba using gcc 2.95.3. configure options were
./configure --with-winbind-auth-challenge --with-winbind --with-pam
root# ./wbinfo -t
Secret is good
root# ./wbinfo -u
0xc0000022
The same thing with wbinfo -g.

Problem with ntlm_auth
Hi
I use suse 10.0 and have problems to set up ntlm_auth for squid.
It uses samba 3.0.20 and squid 2.5.stable10
I have set up winbind and everyhting seems to work.
I've changes groupownerchip of /var/lib/samba/winbindd_privileged
to squid. squid runs as group squid.
Everyhting is working fine for several minutes.
After a while it doesn't work anymore

freebsd 4.10 and port misc/zaptel
hey asterisk folk,
i'm new to asterisk, but not to freebsd as i've been using it and
developing on it for quite a few years. we're planning on deploying
asterisk as part of a voip provider's service platform and naturally i'd
rather be using freebsd instead of a linux based distro. as such, i am
very, very excited that there is work going on towards porting the
zaptel drivers

4.8R and $FreeBSD$ version tag expansion
I noticed that there were quite a few files with version ids of
'$FreeBSD$' when I ran mergemaster after an install of 4.8R. This isn't
right is it? What are the consequences of installing over your files
with unexpanded version ids? I would like to build a release(make
release) and want to know if I can continue or if this is going to be a
problem for future

Spurious auth failures with 2.5S3 + wb_ntlm
Greetings:
I am in the process of setting up ntlm-based user authentication with
Squid. Following the various instructions available in the FAQ and on the
mailing list, I have what appears to be a functioning setup: I can use
`wbinfo' to authenticate successfully, and Squid works as configured,
logging my authenticated username into the logs. However, after what
appears to be a random

Hello all, I have a nice dual Opteron server with a lot of
disk space I'd like to let Windows ADS groups use. I am
running FreeBSD (AMD64) 5.4-RELEASE-p1 with samba-3.0.20,1
I joined the ADS domain. Smbclient works perfectly.
Server shows up in "My Network Places" When I click on it, I
get a login box and no credentials will authenticate me.
Read some of the samba docs, and found

Does svn-to-cvs still work? & How to use freebsd-update?
Hello,
it looks like updating source/ports via csup does not work for some
time. I was using for a long time simple command sequence
csup -h cvsup.freebsd.org /usr/share/examples/cvsup/stable-supfile
csup -h cvsup.freebsd.org /usr/share/examples/cvsup/ports-supfile
to update both source files and ports collection. For some (maybe five)
days there is nothing updated. Is svn-to-cvs stil working?

Error: Widget field13 has zero width and/or height
Greetings,
An update via cvsup (attempting to chase 5.4 stable) on 2006-02-20 @2:40 PM
resulted in a couple of disappointments;
1) after re-building the kernel (cvsupped the SRC on SMP as well) and
installing it. I performed a build/ install world and portupgrade -a.
The portupgrade -a took 2 full days on a base of 246 installed ports.
And resulted in a *465 installed ports base*. Ouch! It's

band to the console, disabled v6 in /etc/rc.conf, rebooted, and
they're fine. the third host is dead to the world :-(

About the FreeBSD Security Advisories
Hello..
I've noticed a delay between when the security advisories are sent and
when the cvsup servers, ftp mirrors and web mirrors are updated. Is this
delay on purpose to give the users some time to update/patch their
system(s) before it hit pages like bugtraq, etc.. or is it just a caused
by the delay between when the ftp/cvsup servers are synced?
Best regard,
Jesper Wallin

Error code 1 during 'make install'(FreeBSD 4.6.2)
Hello,
When doing "make install" under any port, I get *** Error code 1 after the
"Checking if *** already installed" (see below for help2man as an example).
This error seems to occur with any port, such as apg
(/usr/ports/security/apg). The tarball are fetched from Internet.
I think this is due to the difference of version : CVS has RELENG_4_6_2 and
