interdomain trust between two samba pdc's
I have been trying off and on for some time now to get an interdomain trust relationship going between two samba pdc machines (DomainA=trusted & DomainB=trusting). Both pdc's are running on Solaris boxes and NIS is involved (I doubt there is a NIS complication just because I can use accounts on DomainA on DomainB's samba, as long as I add them using smbpasswd manually). The situation

Interdomain Trust, wbinfo works on both servers, getent doesn't work on one server
Hi I have a problem with an interdomain trust where on the PDC for DomainA, everything works perfectly. getent returns local and DomainB usernames. On the PDC for DomainB, it's DomainB works fine, but getent only returns local usernames and groups, it doesn't return the usernames or groups for DomainA. wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g work fine and return all DomainA's usernames and groups.

Samba4 - Interdomain trust with samba3
Hello, I'm actually migrating resources from an old samba3/LDAPĀ  (DOMAINA) to a Samba4 domain (DOMAINB) . I succeded in populating Samba4 users and groups from the old one. Now both domain live together during the migration i would like to set up an interdomain trust between the 2 domains so that samba4 users can still have access to samba shares on the old samba3 domain. So it would be

Samba 4 "Classic PDC" trusts fail with Win 2012 domain but succeed Win 2008

Trust between Samba PDC and AD domain
I've pored through the documentation, wiki, lists, etc, and I can't seem to come to a concise conclusion on how to accomplish this. My specific scenario is the following. I have a samba PDC domain called domainA, and an AD domain called domainB. domainA and domainB are different named domains, and they each authenticate logins and credentials on their own turf. The users on domainA

Accessing shares from 2 domains
We are splitting our users into 2 domains(DOMAINA and DOMAINB (changed for security reason)). I am having problems getting users who log into their workstation on DOMAINA to access a samba share on DOMAINB. We are using W2K3 servers as our AD with LDAP. Samba shares on are CentOS5.1 servers. I Can anyone point me to some docs on how to set this up? I have been rumbling through google for the past

Trusted domain user login
Greetings, We are currently experiencing logon problems with a trusted domain user(s). Example: We have DomainA and DomainB DomainA and DomainB both have workstations joined on their respective domain. DomainA and DomainB both have trust relationships. DomainA trusts DomainB and vise versa. DomainA is where being served by a Samba PDC, while DomainB has a PDC using Windows NT 4.0 Server When

winbind issues with AD domain trust
I'm setting up Samba in an environment with 2 Active Directory domains setup with a one way trust (DOMAINA -> DOMAINB). Samba is in DOMAINA. From looking at the logs (see below) it appears that winbind is having troubles getting the credentials for the domain controller in DOMAINB. I can get tickets, using kinit, for accounts in both domains. I can join DOMAINA just fine. Running

Proper behavior of Interdomain Trust uid mappings
Hi there, I'm running Samba 3.0.14a-sernet on Suse 9.1 using ldapsam. I've got an interdomain trust setup across a vpn connection with a 2k3sp1 domain (DOMB). The trust works. What is strange is that a user from DOMB can't access any shares until they browse a share on our domain controller, say netlogon, then samba creates a new posix account for them in the ou=users base. I have

Need krb5 on Interdomain trust Win2003SP1 - Samba3.0.21?
Hi there, I am reading the Samba3-By-Example dated 29Dec2005. I've found that there's no information on telling how to make a successful deployment on interdomain trust, but this is the missing Chapter that I am really looking for. Anyway, my question is beside Winbind, do I need to configure krb5 on Samba (Domain A) when talking to Win2003SP1 on Domain B? Best Wishes and Happy New Year

Samba LDAP PDC, BDC + Shared Interdomain Trust secret
Hi there, I have a Samba PDC and BDC migrated from NT4 using ldapsam with an interdomain trust to a 2k3 domain. The trust is established both ways and was made from the pdc. Using samba 3.0.14a-sernet on Suse 9.1 The trust is working. I can pull users from the trusted domain and apply them to acls on my samba DMS. Winbind adds the idmap entry correctly. What is not working, is authentication from

can't log in to XP machines on the other side of an interdomain trust
I have two domains, and want to set up workstations so users can log into either domain. I'm using samba 3.0.20b-2 on two debian servers, each of which is a controller for it's own domain. I've set up the interdomain trust accounts. I join the Windows XP workstations to one domain (the add machine script works fine, I don't have to precreate the accounts for the computers when I

Interdomain trust problem
Hi, I am trying to set up one way interdomain trust between two domains (one is samba - samba pdc and the other windows NT 4 domain - Nt4 pdc), that are positioned on different subnets. I followed the instructions on the web site: http://us1.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba3-HOWTO/InterdomainTrusts.html#trusts1 And according to chapter "Samba as the Trusting Domain" added the account on

Interdomain Trust and Logging In
I'm having problems getting Interdomain trusts set up. Both servers are running samba-3.0.10-1.4E.9 (one RHEL 4, the other CentOS 4). The two domains are SOCIALWORK and MATH, servers swserver and bing respectively. On bing, I created a socialwork$ account with the -i option to smbpasswd. On swserver, I created a math$ account with the -i option to smbpasswd. The trust relationships seem to
