MSWORD problem after upgrade to samba 3.0.14a
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with Samba
3.0.14a.
The problems is after the users connects to a samba share and opens msword,
creates a document then does "file|save"
Then opens the file and makes changes then does "file|save" again, it comes
up and says that the backup copy of the file could not be created and never
actually saves

Small bug with Samba 3.0.7's smbd process (or just a bad compilation)???
Hi,
I have compiled and installed Samba 3.0.7 with MIT Kerberos 1.3.5 and
OpenLDAP 2.2.17. The reason for it is that I need to authenticate Windows'
user accesses to a Samba share via the Samba's ADS security mode.
I found out one potential problem with Samba 3.0.7 and I have one general
question:

No response on extensions: TDM842
Hi all
I recently bought a TDM842, basically a TDM800P card with 4 FXS, 2 FXO's.
Installed the same driver as for the TDM24xx cards, as the manual says.
Running Asterisk@home 2.8, did yum update, now on kernel 2.6.9-42.0.10.ELsmp
Card config: Channel 1-4: FXS, Channel 5,6 FXO

Server URL vs. Listen URL
I'm in the process of setting up ICECAST Server running on Windows Server 2003. the Server sits behind a NAT Firewall with a port opened up to make the Icecast server accessible. From an IP address when the Server is running I can access the stream no problems. But I cannot accees the server by name from the Internet.
I have traced the problem down to the names being used for the Server URL

Authentication problems
I am having a problem similar to the one that Jason Gerrity is having
with authentication. Sometimes people are unable to access drives on
one of our unix servers from an NT machine. They are prompted for their
password and when they enter it they get the message "Incorrect password
or unknown username." These are people that have permissions on unix
and can usually access these

I'm trying to authenticate users from AD. I did join the machine to the
domain, and I'm able to see the users list with wbinfo -u.
I have the following problem:
"getent passwd" it givs me the list of all users.
"getent passwd user" does not give any answer.
what could be the problem?
I'm using SUSE Linux 10. with the packages that came with the distrib.

new related project nutdown: https://github.com/arwarw/nutdown
Hello,
I'd like to announce "nutdown", a nut client written using perl
UPS::Nut.
It's purpose is to enable shutdowns in stages, e.g. "less important
servers shut down at 80% charge, the important ones at 10% and the nut
server at 5%". To that end, nutdown supports "events" like power_fail,
the charge falling below configurable percentages (i.e. every

Process build properly after applying patchs to 3.0.20
Hi,
I am trying to test some patches that have been made post 3.0.20. I
have Samba 3.0.20 src installed. I have applied two patches from SVN
(9484, 9481).
I have run autoconf. Poking around after "configure", I discovered I
needed to run "autoheader" as well. This is fine, but I am wondering if
I have missed any other steps?
My steps...
tar -xvzf samba-3.0.20.tar.gz
