Chapter 10 "Active Directory, Kerberos, and Security".
Hi all,
Referred to Samba-3 by Example I don't have clear one point on Chapter 10
"Active Directory, Kerberos, and Security":
How to set Windows 200x ACLs in 10.3.4.2 section you wrote at point 2:
"Be very carefully. Many problems have been created by people who decided
that Everyone should be rejected but one particular group should have full

dos application
Hi,
By few months I have some troubles with a network dos application.
Precisely application, randomly, get errors referring to access denied
to any shared files or path not found and crash.
I would ask you what kind of parameters I have to set in my "smb.conf"
file (Samba v. 3.0.24), to make it more compatible with DOS 6.22.
Many thanks.
Marco.

then do:
dir test.txt
And I get:
General failure reading drive G

The directory contains the file, and the file shows up in a full

XP client awfully slow
Hi all,

I have an XP professional box attached to a Samba server. It works
ok-ish (I can actually access everything) but everything is painfully
slow. Attaching a network drive takes at least 10 seconds, sometimes
longer. Word takes AGES to load (> 15 seconds before anything
