Using samba as a PDC with win2k clients
Hello Samba users,
I'm trying to configure my samba server as a PDC for some Win2k
machines.
I'm running Red Hat 8.0 and samba-3.0.0rc4.
Everything seems to be ok, when using workgroup configuration, all the
shares works fine. But I cant get the Win2k clients to log in the
Domain.
It says I have a unknown user or an incorrect password. But at least it
prompted me for a user/password, so I

I am trying join a w2k bo to a samba DC on RH9. I have read that I need

Is that all i need to do?
When I join I get the "welcome to the domain message" and then I
restart. However when trying to login I get "This systems computer

NFS mount problem
Hi,
We have a major problem using Samba to access NFS mounted directories. The
directory in question is on a Snap server running OS 3, and Samba is running
on a new Sun V250 running Solaris 9; the NFS directory is mounted using udp.
The problems occur when trying to load a file, which causes the samba
process to crash. Another process starts automatically, crashes and so
forth.
However, the

Greetings,
I've been pulling my hair out on this problem for several days and I'm
not really any closer to a solution. I hope someone out there can help
me.
I'm trying to set up a samba PDC on a Fedora Core 2 box using an LDAP
backend (on another server). The base install of everything is working
fine. At the unix level LDAP connectivity is configured and working

Samba "hijack" the connection?
Dear all,
I have 2 domains: JUPITER.COM (Samba 3.0.23c - Centos5) and WIN.COM (Windows
2000 Adv Srv). I join a windows XP SP1 (MOON), first to Windows domain and
then to Samba's.
The problem is when I join the XP to Samba's and then try to logon to WIN.COM,
the XP is instead logon to Samba, thus the username is not found. The DNS is
not a problem, I set the DNS of the XP to

Fwd: Re: Problem with Samba - Openldap and domain autentication of Windows XP
Wait, you are using samba with openldap backend.
Why are you using useradd ??? with this backend you need smbldap instead.
like this:
passdb backend = ldapsam:ldap://your ldap server
ldap passwd sync = yes
ldap delete dn = Yes
ldap admin dn = cn=root,dc=domain,dc=com,dc=br
ldap suffix = dc=domain,dc=com,dc=br
ldap machine suffix =

Joining a domain with a non-administrator account
I'm trying to set it up so I can join the domain with a regular user
that is part of the domain admin group. I have a user dsonenberg that
is in the domain admin group(512), but I can't join the domain with that
account. For the record I can login with that account and Administrator
can join the domain. The PDC has an LDAP backend. Here's the log.

Upgrading a Samba Domain
I am trying to upgrade our fully functional Samba domain from v3.0.2 to
v3.0.7 or v3.0.8. My question is, do I have to upgrade every server in
the domain in order for it to work or should I be able to upgrade one
server at a time, test it, and move on to the next server? Or should I
upgrade the domain controller first, then upgrade the member servers one
at a time?
I've tried to upgrade

trusting the other domain. (I am a member of the na.uis.unisys.com

username EU\INBLR-AUTH1 has access, I get prompted for a username and
password over and over. Obviously, it can't

Problem connecting IIS6 and Samba 3.0.20b
have sent this mail before, but without a subject. Never found any
response to it, hope somebody can and will help me this time.
LS,
I've been trying to set up Samba 3.0.20b on a Debian LDAPv3 server. It all
works ok, except for IIS 6.
I am using a W2K3Std Server to connect to a Samba domain. This is
necessary because of the way IIS authorises it's users. Every website has
it's own
