Migration to Samba using external LDAP server
Hello, we are in the process of implementing a samba server running 3.0.14 and an external LDAP server running Microsoft ADAM. We have it also running with Open LDAP for UNIX under Redhat. It works fine for every user account that accesses the samba instance. The user mapping is done and all works fine. Now we have the major problem of the migration and I would need some guidance here

weights argument in the lmer function in lme4
I suspect the weights argument is not having any effect. Package: Matrix Version: 0.995-2 Date: 2006-01-19 Beginning with this: Browse[1]> resp.lmer <- lmer(SensSSC ~ Block + Season + (1 | Plot) + (1 | Ma) + (1 | Pa) + + (1 | MaPa), weights = SensSSC.N, data = xx) I group the output into a table with my ran.eff function and get this:

How to calculate the statistcs for extracted region?
I have a binary file(a) with size of (360 720 )for the globe.I wrote the code given below to read and extract an area (south america)from that file. when I use summary for the whole file I got: summary(a, na.rm=FALSE) Min. 1st Qu. Median Mean 3rd Qu. Max. NA's 0.00 1.00 3.00 4.15 7.00 20.00 200083 . But when I used summary for the region(b) which I extracted, I got

Help with the Error Message in R "Error in 1:nchid : result would be too long a vector"
Hello everyone, I am using *mlogit* to analyse my choice experiment data. I have *3 alternatives* for each individual and for each individual I have *9 questions*. I have a response from *516 individuals*. So it is a panel of 9*516 observations. I have arranged the data in long format (it contains 100 columns indicating different variables and identifiers). In mlogit I tried the following

unable to call R t-test from Java
Hello, My colleague and I would like to write Java code that invokes R to do a simple TTest. I've included my sample java code below. I tried various alternatives and am unable to pass a vector to the TTest method. In my investigation, I tried to call other R methods that take vectors and also ran into various degrees of failure. Any insight you can provide or other Web references you

Creating a global variable for a struct array
Let me clarify my question. I have a struct array h1 as follows: dhash h1[10]; I want to get a Constant* to variable h1. It looks like I can use ConstantStruct::get(StructType*, ArrayRef<Constant *>) to do this. My question is how to get the second argument of type ArrayRef<Constant *> from the above variable h1. Thanks, Chaitra ________________________________ From: Tim Northover

Creating a global variable for a struct array
Thank you very much. The code to initialize h1 to non-zero values was what I was looking for. It's almost working except for a type mismatch wrt dlist* llist field of h1. dlist static_lst[10] = { {1, 5, NULL}, ... }; dhash h1[10] = {{"myfile.txt", static_lst}, ... }; Along the lines of the code you had sent, I created a GlobalVariable* llist of type [10 x %struct.dlist]* for the

Storing processed results back into original objects
Hi all, There are matrices with same column names but arranged in different orders and I desire columns of these matrices to have same order. For example, below are 2 arbitrary data sets with columns arranged in different order. I require columns of these to have same order as specified in "columns" object and the results stored in the original object names. I know this can be done

Creating a global variable for a struct array
Hello, I would like to create a global variable for the following struct array, h1 dhash* h1 = new dhash[10]; typedef struct dhash{ char* filenm; dlist* llist; }dhash; typedef struct dlist{ int soffst; int eoffst; uint8_t* dptr; }dlist; I also need to allocate space for: 1) the field llist in struct dhash which is a pointer to another struct dlist and 2) the field

xtabs
Hi, In Splus if I call the function crosstabs() the output is a contigency table; in each cell of the table is printed: N, N/RowTotal, N/ColTotal, N/Total. N is the number of observations in each cell. The same call to xtabs() in R will produce the contigency table but the only entry in each cell is N. How can I get the same relative frequencies that crosstabs() gives? Thanks, mike --

maximum concurrent ZAP channels .... max conf ports ...
Hi All, Is it possible to go beyond 250 concurrent ZAP channels with some tweaking or workaround ? Meetme uses zap channels, so we could have a max of 250 conference ports. Is it possible to higher this ? "An Asterisk system can only handle a *max. of 250 concurrent ZAP channels*. This is due to the design limit (255) within the ZAP channel driver." Thanks, ~Vamsi -------------- next

How can I avoid nested 'for' loops or quicken the process?
Hi All, I'm still pretty new to using R - and I was hoping I might be able to get some advice as to how to use 'apply' or a similar function instead of using nested for loops. Right now I have a script which uses nested for loops similar to this: i <- 1 for(a in Alpha) { for (b in Beta) { for (c in Gamma) { for (d in Delta) { for (e in Epsilon) { Output[i] <-

Max concurrent calls
Hi, Does anyone know what is the amount of max concurrent calls that can be made in one Asterisk box? I heard that it is 256 and it doesn't depend on how good your machine is. It is the program constraint. What can I do when I need to have more calls than that. I read about connecting Asterisk boxes with IAX. Is it a good solution? Does anyone have other proposals? Cheers Andrew

crosstabulation of means
Hello, I am trying to print a crosttabulation of mean,sd,n for a continuous variable crossclassified by anoother/s grouping variables. I came up with: xtab2 <- function(x,g1,g2) { funy <- function(z) list(mean(z,na.rm=T),sd(z,na.rm=T),length(z)) aa <- by(x,list(g1,g2),funy) bb <- matrix(unlist(aa),nrow=3 ,dimnames=list(c("mean","sd","n"),

Bug in by() function which works for some FUN argument and does not work for others
Dear Sirs, I am Professor at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India. While taking classes, I found the *by() *function producing following error when I use FUN=mean or median and some other functions, however, FUN=summary works. Given below is the output of the example I used on a built-in dataset "mtcars", along with error message reproduced herewith: >

Use of survreg.distributions

For logarithmic transformation of y data, I am trying use survreg.distributions in the following way: tfit=survreg(Surv(y, y>=-5, type="left")~x + cluster(id), dist="gaussian", data=y.data, scale=0, weights=w) my.gaussian<-survreg.distributions$gaussian

Question about nv40_draw_array
Hi, My name is Krzysztof and currently I'm working on porting nouveau (gallium3d driver + libdrm + drm) to AROS Research OS (http://www.aros.org). I completed a quite successful port of "old" drm (one from libdrm git - now removed) and currently I'm working on drm port from the nouveau kernel tree git. Right now I'm faced with rather peculiar memory allocation/access
