LDAP and password expiry
Hello, We are using Samba 3.0.14a-6, slapd 2.2.26-4 and smbldap-tools 0.9.1-2 on Debian. My users are complaining about warnings that their password is about to expire and that the are told "You do not have permission to change your password" when they try to change it. sambaAcctFlags includes the X flag which I thought meant "don't expire passwords." The password changing

Weighting Schemes: Evaluation results
Ah. If FIRE doesn't have something that can show this suitably, then > maybe Parth can advise on access to TREC, as I know he's used some of > them in the past. > ?I can say FIRE is also a reliable source but INEX/TREC are better. INEX can give you free access and TREC is not freely available. I had used INEX for xapian in the past and some details are here:

[wishlist, patch] Removing .bzr/ directory when calling R CMD build (PR#10625)
Full_Name: Ben Goodrich Version: 2.6.1 OS: Debian Submission from: (NULL) (128.103.222.166) bzr is another version control system and adds a .bzr folder to the top-level directory of a package, similar to .svn and .git for subversion and git respectively. However, while R CMD build removes directories called .svn, .git, and some others, it does not remove .bzr . As a result, the .bzr folder is

Weighting Schemes: Evaluation results
Hi James, > We probably don't want them committed in git where they're evaluation > runs (because we can recreate them); a gist might be more appropriate. Sorry, I have moved results files over to gist for each individual weighting scheme. Link: https://gist.github.com/ivmarkp/secret > I can't tell, but are some of those files from FIRE? [wishlist, patch] make row() and col() preserve dimnames (PR#13705)
Full_Name: Ben Goodrich Version: 2.9.0 OS: Linux (Debian unstable) Submission from: (NULL) (128.103.220.16) row(x), col(x), and functions that call them like lower.tri(x) and upper.tri(x) do not retain the rownames or colnames of x in the matrix that is returned. Example from R version 2.9.0 : x <- matrix(1:9, nrow = 3, ncol = 3) rownames(x) <- LETTERS[1:3] colnames(x) <- letters[1:3]

Breakage on Debian unstable, be careful with upgrades
Ben Goodrich alerted me to some breakage coming from read.dcf() meaning you can no longer install or upgrade R packages. ChenLiang Xu was eagle-eyed and related this to gzfile() and he and Johannes Fichting confirmed that a downgrade to zlib1g from testing fixes things. Ben already filed a Debian bug report, you can see the gory details at http://bugs.debian.org/562755 and we are in contact

Mail now in ActionMailer
OK everyone, so we finally have Mail merged into ActionMailer replacing out TMail This is for the 3.0 release, and not part of the 2.x tree. I am the TMail maintainer and I decided this year to write a ruby email handler, the Mail gem is my solution to this. Mail takes a very object oriented approach to email. It conforms to RFCs as closely as practical and parses the 0.5gb Trec and 2.5Gb

Double-quoted query with "and" fails.
Hi, We''re using Ferret 0.9.4 and we''ve observed the following behavior. Searching for ''fieldname: foo and bar'' works fine while ''fieldname: "foo and bar"'' doesn''t return any results. Is there a way to make ferret recognize the ''and'' inside the query as a search term and not an operator? (I hope I got the

serialization regression in 2.15.0 beta
Hi, I am experiencing a problem related to serialization behavior in 2.15.0 beta (binary installed from Debian unstable) and 2.16.0 (from svn) that is not present in 2.14.2 (binary from Debian testing). I don't fully understand the problem. Also, I tried but have not yet been able to create a small, self-contained example that reproduces the problem. However, I do have a large, not

Test Dataset for performance and accuracy analysis
Hi Parth, I implemented DFR algorithms in Xapian as a part of GSOC last year under the mentorship of Olly. This year, I want to work on analyzing and optimizing the performance of the DFR algorithms and comparing them with BM25.I also want to work on profiling the query expansion schemes and test the relevance(precision and recall) / speed(time taken) of the

Three-dimensional (3D) movement using 'R'
Hi Everyone, I have a question regarding the construction of 3D graphs in 'R', BUT these graphs also need to illustrate movement (with time) of the prostate gland (using radiological techniques). I am not sure how to do this in 'R' although I'm sure there is some way of doing it. Below, I have copied and pasted some of the data with which I'm working on. The data
