need to remove domain from Winbind group entries
Hi,
I have server setup as BDC on a subnet different from
the PDC. The BDC can auth fine against the PDC and
they can browse each other just fine. The problem is
on Unix side of the BDC. When I do a 'wbinfo -g' or
'getent group' each group fit the format
'DOMAIN\group_name' and the PDC does not. This is
causing problems when synchronizing as the group perm
is being set

Fwd: win32-clipboard and Unicode zero bytes
Hi all,
I''m forwarding this message from Brian Marick. If you
run this test script and then paste the results into a
Unicode aware text editor, you''ll notice that it only
prints one character instead of three.
I tried changing the strlen to _tcslen and strcpy to
_tcscpy, but that didn''t help. I mucked around a bit
with the MultiByteToWideChar function, too, but

alias keeps changing (fwd)
I'd suggest looking around the ifcfg-eth* files (somewhere in
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts I think) nad commenting out HWADDR= lines, if
that works, then try reversing the HWADDR lines - this will reverse the numbers
of the ethernet cards (ie making eth0 eth1 and eth1 eth0) but should result in
a stable configuration till next hardware change.
And you problem? IMHO, when the system

SIP KEEPALIVES, with QUALIFY and without making UNREACHABLE
Need SIP KEEPALIVES in Asterisk, but QUALIFY won't presently work for you (due to it's channel disabling behavior)?
Someone posted on the list that they would like to split "keepalives" and "qualify" into different features. Sounds like a good plan, but until that is done you can turn "qualify=" into a keepalive mechanism, without disabling your channels.

integrated voip originator, to digitize audio once and only once?
Calling 7777 from a local extension on my local
network, I get good voice quality from asterisk, and
asterisk reliably recognizes my dtmf input.
I set up a sipphone trunk (free) and called in to it
via a separate sipphone account on another computer,
and got slightly lower, but still good, audio quality.
I set up a FWD trunk (free) and called in from the
other computer, and got somewhat lower

Fwd: RE: Welcome to the "samba" mailing list
Hello,
I have a Solaris 10 machine (SunOS 5.10
Generic_118833-18 sun4u sparc)
installed with Samba Version 3.0.23a.
Samba has been compiled from source with PAM modules.
The modules 'pam_smbpass.so' and 'pam_winbind.so'
reside at: /usr/local/samba/lib/security
smb.conf is located at /usr/local/samba/lib/
We are talking about /etc/pam.conf, not /etc/pam.d/

vpn multihoming
Hello all,
I have a linux router with 2 interfaces(eth0 - ISP and
eth1 - LAN). I''ve established a VPN
connection(openvpn) over eth0 with a friend of mine =>
tun0 interface.
I want half of my LAN to have Internet access through
the eth0 interface and the other half through the tun0
interface.
I''ve set up a script like the "load balancing split
access" instructions

Winbind success BUT blank root password
I have just gotten my samba machine, a SuSE 9.1
install, to work completely with my Win2k domain (in
my test network, anyway.)
However, after rebooting, I was unable to log into my
root account on the SuSE box. In disgust, I tried to
login as root with no password. Imagine my shock when
it worked. Now, no matter how many times I reset my
root password, using passwd or SuSE's GUI tools, I

btw - I installed your x86_64 rpms that has the ich9

Asterisk trunk/1.6 and nvfaxdetect
I'll begin working on full cross-version support (Asterisk 1.2, 1.4, and 1.6) in early May for nvfaxdetect and a handful of other modules.

Bitrate problem
Thanks all for your prompt reply.
I agree with Alex. I think jitter buffer will have to
drop packets if its input bitrate is higher than it is
configured for.
I never tried speex jitter buffer. What does it do
when input bitrate is higher or lower ?
As an alternate solution, I was thinking to play with
directsound playrate [using SetFrequency()]. Has
anyone used it to solve such problem?
