Winbind is used if you want to authentificate unix account with a other PDC. I don't know if on the same server you can use winbind for unix auth and ldap for Samba ... Hi, I have a samba server which functioned correctly. Only, since 2 weeks, the users have complained about slowness networks and the server is to 100% CPU on the initial process smbd. My version is 3.0.7 and I have a Windows 2000 WINS server for netbios resolution. The samba server use nscd and ldap for password module. damn.... now everything works samba recognises user "test_user" in group "users" AND "kids".... i dunno why ?!?!!? i did nothing, i just removed "valid users" from this share and reloaded smb-conf...nothing special ! if i could reproduce it, it would be better then seeing it working now and not knowing why.... but thx very much for your patiance greez

Hi list, I got a strange problem here, i got 33 machines, all with Windows 2000. The thing is that "some of them connect" others don't, all with the exact same configuration. Same thing happen with users, some connect some don't. I have been looking around for a solution and found nothing. Please HELP!!! -- C?roly E. Arenas

If the first LDAP server faild, the second can be used directly. This server is a PDC server with more than 100 people connected and some application required domain authentification for running.
