dsync-server couldn't create .dovecot-sync.lock file
My dovecot stores users' emails on /var/spool/imap/<user> and stores the
messages index on /var/lib/imap/<user>.
I have many users who do not yet have their userdb_home directories
created on the server, because that is created at the time of first login.
I'm testing dsync for replication and have seen the following error:

Samba Posix ACL and classical files permissions
Hi,
i'm experiencing a strange behavior in the way samba shows file and
folders permissions under windows explorer.
When i open the folder or file properties under windows (xp sp2 btw), it
shows in the Security panel all the entries, both classical posix ones
and posix acl ones; but if i select each one of them to see file
permissions, it will show only the permission of users indicated

problems with starting R
When I try to start R from my desktop, an "information"-window pops up:
"Fatal error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE".
I already deleted and reinstalled the program, but the problem lasts.
How can I solve this problem?
I would be very glad, if you can give me a hint, what??s going wrong.
Best regards

Read-Only file attributes not being preserved.
Hey All,
I'm having problems with samba/windows file attributes. I'm using
roaming profiles (Win2000) with Samba serving as the PDC. Samba also
stores the profiles. The 'Create Mask' is 0744 and the 'force create'
is 00.
Now the problem is my read-only files are not kept at read-only when I
log in. Basically, I create a *read-only* file in my window profiles
directory

[OT] snmp not reporting traffic values for a network interface
Hi all!
I know this is quite offtopic, but I found nothing in google nor in
the net-snmp mailing list, and I know there''s a lot of people here
graphing with snmp+rrdtool. I installed net-snmp 5.1.2-6.1 in Debian
to produce graphs for some ethernet interfaces. It seems it''s not
reporting correct values for them. Here''s my snmpd.conf (very simple)
and the output from the

setting callerid not working if no callerid on incoming number
If we get an incoming call I can edit the callerID provided to add the
leading '90' and set the name so that sales calls can be identified
according to the number called.
If however the callerID is unavailable then setting the callerID name or
number fails (it shows as unavailable on the phone).
This is the call log from such an incoming call without callerID.

rsyncstats
Hi,
this is a rewritten rsynctats of the version which ships with rsync
2.5.6. No new features, just some things fixed:
o -l <depth> works for other values than 2
o -h, -t, -d can be switched on, the old version didn't allow -h and
-t to be off... default is off for all now!
o datecompare() didn't sort correclty (at least for me ;-))
o output of MB limited to 3

Update for R package KScorrect for K-S goodness-of-fit tests
Greetings,
We wanted to announce v. 1.4.0 of the R package 'KScorrect', which

RX dropped packets on guests subnets
Hello,
I have first a question (and then may be a problem), that I have difficulties to understand and eventually to investigate.
On each of my guests VM, I see constantly a RX dropped number increasing , Even if the VM does nothing !

updating arguments of formulae
Dear R-Community,
I am relatively new with R, so sorry for things which for you might be
obvious...
I am trying to automatically update lmer formulae.
the variables of the model are:
depM= my dependent measure
Sb2= a random factor
OS = a predictor
VR= another predictor
So, I am building the first model with random intercept only:
model = lmer(depM ~ (1 |Sb2))
then I update the formula
