Samba-4 DNS issue
Thanks for the suggestion, however it is not a seperate zone, i.e. it appears to be a part of the "e2eservices.co.uk" zone with child objects (analogous to "_tcp" and "_udp" in a domain zone).   Alan   -----Original message----- From:Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> Sent:Fri 11-12-2015 13:16 Subject:Re: [Samba] Samba-4 DNS issue To:samba at lists.samba.org;

Samba-4 DNS issue
Its should not be needed to drop and recreate. Try the following. Delete the created records in the "wrong" zone(s) Try to delete the "wrong" zone. ( ignore the error) Restart bind Restart samba. Pray and check again. Are the "empty zones gone and are your dns records there again? Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba

winbindd + smbd errors trying to run in proxy only mode
Hi, I am trying to set up squid to authenticate using the ntlm module. In order to do this I am trying to get winbindd to run in proxy only mode. I am running Samba 2.0.23c. I have no references to idmap or winbind in my smb.conf. I was of the impression this should cause winbindd to start in proxy only mode. Starting winbindd results in: Jan 30 12:04:33 FS1 winbindd[15332]: [2007/01/30

However, i'm not

Hi, I encountered a problem when I joined a FreeBSD machine to a windows = 2003 AD domain. I passed following steps successfully: 1.#net ads join =A8CUAdministrator =20 2.#wbinfo =A8Cu 3.#wbinfo =A8Cg But when I check: #id Domain\\username (I can find this username using command = =A1=B0wbinfo =A8Cu=A1=B1) Id Domain\\username: no such user =20 I found: After restarting samba, there

Share Connection Failure
I'm at my wit's end on this, and I hope someone can help. I'm running SUSE Pro 9.3 with Samba 3.0.13, and I can't get connected to my shares properly. Valid users (e.g., for [accounts]) is set to %G, and I've confirmed that the users are members of the owning groups for the shares and that they are in the passwd and smbpasswd files with the same passwords as on the Win2k

However instead of adding the entry "styx" to the domain, I accidently added

Debian Packages and Mirrors
FYI and to whom it may concern, I have made Debian packages of Asterisk et. al. You still need to build a new kernel and the zaptel modules from source, but Asterisk and libpri are manageable with dpkg. The debs as well as mirrors of the source distribution are here: http://www.ntgos.com/Projects/Asterisk/Download http://parc.styx.org/asterisk I would also like to mirror the CVS repository as

glibc errors related to nss_ldap or pam_ldap?
I am trying to track down the cause of some errors that have been occurring on a number of our servers using LDAP. We have noticed that when a certain LDAP group exceeds 65 users we begin seeing glibc errors for users in the group. Users that are not in the group do not exhibit this behavior. We have seen this issue on machines running Centos 4.5 x86 & x86_64 with glibc-2.3.4-2.36 and RH4
