Samba vscan VFS Module
I'm trying to configure Samba's vscan on-access VFS module on a box with a working CLAM installation. [CLAM is merrily scanning mail on this box via clamav-milter]. I've set this up before, but this time it seems to be giving me grief. If I remove the vscan-clamav module then everything works, and I can open files. When I try to open a file with the module enable I just get a file

Samba 3.2.5 and vscan-clamav.so
Hello Recently I migrated from samba 3.0.24 to samba 3.2.5 on Debian etch amd64. In old system I have working samba-vscan used with ClamAV 0.91. Now I have ClamAV 0.94.2. I compiled vscan-clamav successfully, but when I try to connect to the share, it fails and I get some strange messages in the samba logs: "Error trying to resolve symbol 'init_samba_module' in

On access scanning with samba-vscan
Hi, I am trying to configure Samba as blocking virus transfer so that shares can be safe. I am using redhat el3 and fc4. I want to install samba-vscan, clamd. I have tried to install it from tar packages but i couldn't succeed it. I have read some HOWTO's but I still face the same problems. Are there any documents that explain exactly how its going to be? Thanks Okan Bostan

Samba3+samba-vscan+clamav = A big headache.
I just installed samba3+samba-vscan via ports on a FreeBSD 4.x system. Samba is running just fine and thanks to the help of webmin it was easily configured. Today I finally was able to get windows shares to be mounted on my FreeBSD server. So naturally I want to run av scans on it. I set it up to mount the entire C drive and to scan it using clamav which is also installed from ports. I recompiled

ContOS5 and Samba-Vscan
Hi, I am running a CentOS 5 file server in our Windows network and I wanted to add a anti virus scanner. I got a clamav package from atrmps.net, but the samba module samba-vscan is missing. So I am not able to integrate clamav as an on-demand scanner. Does anyone know, where I can get the samba-vscan module? Thanks knilch

Where can I get samba-vscan from?
Hi there! Am using CentOS 4.4. Have installed Samba and ClamAV. My understanding is that there's a vfs module (samba-vscan) which I have to install for Samba to virus scan its shares. Where can I get it from? I tried stuff like "yum install samba-vscan" etc but it doesn't seem to be there in the repos. I have RPMForge and the usual CentOS repos enabled. Is this something I have

SuSE 9.3 samba binaries FUBAR??
Mates, I dunno if nobody else is using the samba binaries to put 3.0.20-1 on SuSE 9.3 -- or -- if I'm just doing something stupid, but there seem to be library problems. Specifically, we are getting library errors for the *.so.2 libraries, regardless of whether we try via YAST or RPM. david@nemesis:~/Documents/linux/rpms/samba320> ll total 19970 -rw-r--r-- 1 david users 60998
