Broken pipe on ls after doing mount -t smbfs
I have a problem with smbmount.
I have a linux server running E-Smith (or Mitel SME server as it is now) which
is basically a cut down version of RedHat 7.0 (running Kernel 2.2.19-7.0.8smp).
Samba version is 2.0.10. We are connecting to an NT server (service pack 3 - I
must upgrade that sometime soon).
We have quite a good tapedrive and backup software (3rd party) on the E-Smith
server, whereas

Yes, I know it has. My point was that I've been working with Samba for
quite some time, so this is not all new to me. I've also been contributing

SME on CentOS, telnet and MySQL
After failing to install on two different machines that were running
Windows, I realized that one machine had a bad hard-drive, and the other
bad memory. So I've collected the good parts into one machine and
installed CentOS with SME. This was the fastest install of Linux I have
every seen, 15 minutes done, configured, and running, web and email

saving multiple arrays from a foreach loop
Dear R-List member,
I have a problem when I'm trying to save two arrays from a foreach-loop.
I'm also not sure whether this is possible or just my inexperience.
However, this works perferctly fine with a for-loop.
Here is an example code - any help is much appreciated!!:

Samba server choices
I have been running a customized version Amahi for a couple years for my
Samba server. It is time for an upgrade, and I will be moving away from
Amahi, as they have abandoned Fedora for Ubuntu.
Back when I selected Amahi to replace my 15 year old NT server, I looked
around and only considered SME Server as an alternative, but they were
still on Centos 4.7 with the Centos 5 based version

Rsync and sync2nas
Hi, I'm using rsync on 2 sme servers and attempting to get sync2nas to
work from my windows 2003 servers to my sme server for backup purposes
I can successfully rsync between the two sme servers and in a local
setting can run syn2nas between windows and sme server however I cannot
get syn2nas to work outside the local network,
My ultimate goal is the allow my windows server to backup to sme

AMD IOMMU + SME + amdgpu regression
Hi,
amdgpu + IOMMU + SME is now working for me on 5.7, yay! But, it is
broken on torvalds master, boo. On boot, depending on which exact commit
I test, it either hangs immediately (with built-in driver, before
starting initramfs), displays some errors then hangs, or spams the
screen with many amdgpu errors.
I bisected the black screen hang to:

Samba 4 "Trigger" when user is created???
I am working to deploy Samba4 on the SME Server: A customized version of
Centos with a web management GUI and configuration API.
One of the challenges we see is how we synchronize our SME Server
configuration API with users who are created using tools outside of *nix.
For example if a user were created using the windows administration tools.
Are there any triggers in Samba that could be set to

IP routing basics?

Problem Installing On ASUS P5VD2-VM Motherboard
Hi All
I was wondering if anyone has installed CentOS 4.x on the following
configuration? Our specs for the server are ASUS P5VD2-VM Motherboard, Intel
Core2Duo processor, 2 x 250GB Seagate SATA HDD with 2GB RAM. I am currently
trying to install SME Server 7.1 on this configuration. The SME forum has
recommended I post here as well to see if anybody can help.

[PATCH v5 39/75] x86/sev-es: Print SEV-ES info into kernel log
From: Joerg Roedel <jroedel at suse.de>
Refactor the message printed to the kernel log which indicates whether
SEV or SME is active to print a list of enabled encryption features.
This will scale better in the future when more memory encryption
features might be added. Also add SEV-ES to the list of features.

Humm... Not liking the errors in this method. Looking at the ldif, I
think we could rework this so that one could modify the LDAP schema
directly using LDAP syntax. In my case, I'm using Net::LDAP. Something
