Looking for a VoIP solution...
Hello all! Please forgive me if I am asking stupid questions, I am new to implementing VoIP as PBX. I am currently employed at a Tifton, GA-based peanut shelling facility and I am looking for a VoIP system to tie our 2 locations together. The plant and the main office were originally separate, so each has their own (different) phone system. Each side has 4 incoming analog lines and about a dozen

Re: Windows XP machine not connecting to Samba 3.04 after upgrade
Hi, as I wrote before: I'm not able to connect a Windows XP Pro notebook to a Samba 3.0.4 server. All the other machines (most Windows XP Pro, but also a few Windows 2000 and Windows 98) can connect without any problem. This one machine is not part of the NT domain because it needs to connect 1 or 2 times a week only, and is on the road most of the time. The machine could connect

Xen on ALIX 2D3
Has anybody tried running Xen on an ALIX 2D3 board? http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d3.htm If not, has anybody ran Xen on a seriously underpowered PC? The reason why I love these boards so much is that they run at 5W! Of course, I would only run Xen on these for testing purposes. It would just be nice to have a very low powered system that I can just "blow away" VMs when I

Mail archive search is now up
There's now a list search on the xiph.org website for the vorbis and vorbis-dev mailing lists. The search can be found on each list's master monthly index (eg, http://www.xiph.org/archives/vorbis/masterindex.html) It's a Perl CGI on an underpowered box, so no bitching about speed :-) Monty --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

zaptel ppp HDLC Receiver Overrun messages
I have a pair of sites tied together with a T1 line running zaptel PPP on either end. The system works, but I keep getting these messages in the kernel logs, and users are reporting connection problems (TCP timeouts, and hangs) especially under high usage. --snip-- HDLC Receiver overrun on channel WCT1/0/1 (master=WCT1/0/1) HDLC Receiver overrun on channel WCT1/0/1 (master=WCT1/0/1) HDLC

Is the unsupported kernel considered stable-ish?
I have a need to use the unsupported kernel for one feature only (AFP/Appletalk support). Never having had to use it before, I''m unsure of what''s all in it other than reading it''s config file. From those that do use it -- is it considered stable enough to use in lightweight production? I''m debating the use of it versus wasting my time rebuilding the normal

Mail server setup for small ISP
Hi, I will probably have to design an e-mail (and other components) infrastructure for a small ISP soon (WISP). I'm doing some research to determine which components would be best to offer e-mail services to their client and allow the staff to manage accounts easily. I usually use virtual machines a lot for isolation and easy backups and migration (when a hardware node is

playback problems with oppo BDP-95
My friend somehow managed to get a BDP-95, even though the hardware isn't scheduled to ship until March. The problem is that the manual makes no mention of FLAC, at all, and only the web page claims to support the format. Playback of flac seems to work, but files from one online vendor work flawlessly while files from other online vendors have strange glitches that sound like a

Dear collegues, many thanks for your valuable input. Since we are an university GEO-IP blocking is not an option for us. Somestimes I think it should ;-) My "mistake" was that I had just *one* fail2ban filter for both cases: "wrong password" and "unknown user". Now I have two distinct jails: The first one just for "wrong password" and here the findtime,
