NT_STATUS_PIPE_NOT_AVAILABLE and non working winbind auth
Hi! At work I have an Active Directory domain (Windows 2003) which has the SFU schema extensions. Recently we set up all the Linux clients (SuSE 9.2) to authenticate using LDAP (nss_ldap). But the main thing is that we added a Samba server (SuSE 9.0, samba 3.0.14a) to host the user's homes (somewhere in the future, their Windows profiles too). This server also has local LDAP

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Upgrading from 3.0.2a to 3.0.10 gives us a version of samba that joins the domain properly (2000 mixed mode, type ADS), and will list the users, but the following message is repeated over and over in /var/log/samba/log.winbindd: [2005/01/13 11:28:59, 3] nsswitch/winbindd_misc.c:winbindd_interface_version(261) ~ [ 9009]: request interface version

error messsage was: Named pipe not available
I'm having trouble authenticating users. WinXP will authenticate fine if accessed via hostname... //fileserver/share. Ip does not work.. ie //192.168.1.2/share. Anything below winXP cannot authenticate. Nothing is shown in error logs. wbinfo -t does not work.. returns the following errors. A few hot fixes were applied to domain controlers as well as SP4. No changes were made to samba server.

Seeking ERD/Schema resources
Hi all. I''ve been working diligently through several of the popular tomes on RoR: - AWDWR - Beginning RoR E-Commerce - The Money Train (Benjamin Curtis) I''ve learned lots, however these books cover selling one type of product (i.e. a book). One thing is eluding me: I''m trying to develop a schema for a music store that offers products with options (i.e. Filetype, Length)

Samba Groups questions
Hi, When Samba is running as a PDC and a workstation is joined to the Domain, should the user logged into the workstation be able to see all the groups they are a member of using `ifmember /list`? Is the below output as expected? I'm I correct thinking that as all my groups originate in the Unix world, I don't need winbind to allow the Workstations to see them? For what

Samba as ADS Fileserver
Dear All I've been working at building a file server to provide file sharing for a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. Our requirements are for the Windows Server Administrator to be able to create all the users' home folders in the Samba share and apply restrictive permissions. Ie. User joe, //samba/joe$ or //samba/share/joe (Dfs), with permissions for only the user "joe"

USRMGR, groups, and ldap
I currently have samba version 3.0.23 installed using ldap as the backend. I am experiencing the same problems as Holger Wesser mentioned in his posting "USRMGR.exe not working properly". However, it appears that the fix of creating the group mappings does not work. They appear to be mapped correctly on my setup. My net groupmap list is: Domain Admins
