completed printjobs stay in queue after "upgrade" 3.0.20rc2 -> 3.0.20
A few weeks ago, I upgraded Samba 3.0.1x to 3.0.14a . After the upgrade, all completed printjobs on all 40 printers stayed in samba's print queue (they were removed from the unix-printqueue). When I installed 3.0.20rc2, everything back to normal. But since the upgrade this weekend to 3.0.20, the same thing happens again: no jobs were removed from the samba printerqueue's. Removing

Multiple smbd processes generated
We have an occasional problem which manifests with multiple processes being created for a particular user. For example, for a user "xy004": xy004 8463 0.0 0.0 6.02M 0K ?? Perhaps slightly OT - Lots of spurious webdav requests.
Hello All, I am running a CentOS 4.6 file server for a small office network and I am getting a lot of strange webdav requests from one of the Windows workstations - I have not configured Webdav on the Windows host (hereafter "windows-laptop") in question. Some details - I have configured a Samba share called (say) "share1" on the CentOS server and the windows-laptop connects

dos?
I have an old dos app that doesn't run in the win95 shell very well. There are problems with the graphics. Is it possible to connect to a samba server from real dos? I assume the answer is no but I thought I would check. Verne Ball vball@socrates.berkeley.edu

Problems logging in with MSCLIENT.
I'm running Samba 2.2.3 with winbind for authentication. Much to my surprise, I found I had a need to connect an MS-DOS system to the network. I'm using MSCLIENT to do so. I can successfully log into the domain and map drives on Windows NT servers, but I'm having trouble mapping Samba shares. Examining the log shows that the DOS machine is apparently trying to connect with a username

EA support for AIX 5.3
Jerry, Jeremy, Whilst fixing bug 2445, I stumbled across NFSv4 ACLs with EA version 2 capability. This is only supported on filesystems that are created JFS2 with Extended Attribute Version 2 support which is part of the NFSv4 ACL support native to JFS2 in AIX 5.3. This is new in AIX 5.3 and I'd like to get to work implementing it as an addition to Linux and IRIX EA support. Are the any

Many asterisk server behind a redirector?
If you have the need to implement 5 asterisk boxes each one handling only 100 ulaw calls (same dialplan, etc.) logging to a six MYSQL server , what do you use in *front* of the asterisks? Codecs, hardware, etc is not important. The thing that Im trying to figure out is how do I present the asterisk servers to a bunch of phones and/or FXStoSIP boxes. a sip proxy is not the solution because the sip
