roaming profile trouble
Maybe this is not the right place but i'm still having trouble with
synchronisation.
Samba 3.0.14 as pdc.
I used gpedit.msc to tell the computer not to sync Documents ( i used
the italian name Documenti, since
my windowsxp is in italian ) on login/logout.
I mapped documents using regedit on drive z: (i.e. the roaming profile
on the samba server), but when i logout i
have been still seeing

Samba 3.4.7-0.2, Windows 7, roaming profile issues
After update from 3.0 to 3.4.7 roaming profiles were not being saved
on XP. Disabled ipv6 on our Samba server (some update must have
re-enabled it) and rebooted. Now profiles on XP seem to be working OK
again.
Not so for Windows 7. This is a newly set up Windows 7 machine,
registry fixes were applied as indicated here:

Windows XP cannot load roaming profile
Greetings to the samba community,
I am trying to set up a small (12 workstations) Windows XP network served by an Ubuntu 6.06 samba PDC.
I have domain logons working, but I am unable to properly set up roaming profiles. One of the users called "host" (which means "guest" in Czech) is able to login without any warnings. Other users (so far "administrator" and

WinXP - Not So Roaming profile
Hi folks,
I am trying to deploy an LDAP based Samba3 PDC, migrated from an old WinNT4
Domain to support roaming profile for new WinXP clients.
But I do not want a full roaming profile. AFAIK WinXP profiles tends to grow. If
possible, I would like to roam only the desktop settings, and maybe the
navigator (IE or Firefox) configuration.
Another important (I believe) information is that our WinXP

incompatibility between roaming profiles and winxp clients that didn't create them
[samba v3.0.24, gentoo w/ kernel 2.6.15]
I'm hoping someone has some insight into the following problem that I've
recently encountered:
Basically, winxp seems to be creating roaming profiles that are
incompatible with another winxp client. I've got two sets of winxp
clients, which I'll call 'new' and 'old'. Profiles created (and
perfectly usable) by the old

I have it configured as a PDC, and all the roaming profiles work,

told me ( after some days of making it all work ) that he sees that the use
of roaming profiles in his network is useless.
ok now, he says no roaming profiles ! I have searched around the network

Problem with Roaming Profiles
Hello all,
I'm using Samba 3.0.28-0.4.3 as PDC on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
SP1 (x86_64), integrated with a ldap base. I have setup roaming
profiles and things were working fine till yesterday when an user "lost"
his profile during logon. Here is a part of audit log:

Moving from SAMBA to 2003 domain with XP SP# client machines roaming profiles stopped working
We have been directed to move off a SAMBA domain to a server 2003R2
domain. We run roaming profiles with samba and would like to continue
this on 2003R2. After bringing all the XPSP3 desktops into the 2003R2
domain, roaming profiles wont work. I'm not even trying to use the
SAMBA generated profiles. The error I get when logging on is:

SOLVED: Roaming profiles not updating XP
After almost 40 hours of work and testing over 6 computers I have finally
figured out the answer to my problem of Roaming profiles not updating. This
has occurred with SAMBA versions 2.2.* and later up through and including
3.0.2a (completely clean install in each case, including rebuilding domain,
users and groups and smb.conf from scratch). It does not appear to be a SAMBA
issue but one

[Samba} Can't do roaming profiles (Solved)
Through much help from a guy in my local LUG I found the solution to
making roaming profiles work on Win2000 (SP4).
1) You should have SP4 installed.
2) Two registry changes are needed:
Use regedit and change the following two dword attributes to 0
"requiresignorseal"
"signsecurechannel"
3) Run the group policy editor "gpedit.msc" and enable the

Windows XP Profile-Samba 3
Hi,
We are setting up a samba PDC with rhcl 5.I made some restrictions in XP
box using GPEDIT like restricting the access to control panel, desktop
properties, registry and etc. ,then i copied the DEFAULT USER folder frm
that XP box to netlogon share of samba server.(thought it would act as
baseprofile for all users and this profile policy will be copied to all new
users).But what ever the

Roaming Profiles with WinXP and Samba PDC
Hello,
After a great deal of tweaking, I finally got the Samba server
working, so that it would accept domain logins. However, the problem I
now have regards roaming profiles, which refuse to function. After
successfully authenticating the user, the following 2 messages appear:

Set a login script but no profile?
Hello,
I am so close!!! So far I have a Samba PDC that machines and users can log
into, but here's the deal: I would like to find out how to allow them to log
on and receive their login script, but not use a roving profile.
Here are my relevant settings as they are set right now:
; logon drive = x:
; logon home = "\\Gluon\Gluon G"
; logon path = \\Jupiter\Profile\%U

Roaming Profile not found - replacement PDC
Howdy everyone:
Here's an interesting one:
I have joined a machine to the domain, and I log on. Then, I get a
message to the effect that the user's roaming profile couldn't be
[loaded or found?], and a local profile will be used instead (and
actually this also fails, but is not the point of my question... I don't
think).

Salut
l'ordinateur, troisi?me onglet [profiles]. Et dans cet onglet il est
possible de s?lectionner le type de profile

User profile changes logging into domain
Hi,
We have a bunch of users that have local profiles, and when the login to
the domain they get a new profile created on their workstation.
For example, a user like c:\documents and settings\rguyton changes to
c:\documents and settings\rguyton.HMDCDOMAIN
Is there a way to get this to use the existing profile?
Also, i went into gpedit.msc and set "allow local profiles only" since
