Win9x via Kix unable to get extended user attributes
Hi all, In trying to upgrade Samba here, I have built various versions from 3.0.11 to 3.0.14a using various versions of gcc and the Sun compiler (this is on Solaris SPARC) and had the following problem in all cases. Running the built samba as a logon server, I find that WinXP clients work fine but Win9X clients have some difficulties. The problem is that the Win9X logon script can't

HP DL585 - CentOS4.5 - kix woes
Hi Well we are now using HP instead of Dell and have hit a major hurdle. We dont seem to be able to kix any of these boxes. I have been most recently trying on a dl585 and the issue appears to be that the kix kernel does not detect any nic. Its strange as the box can be installed using iso's and the nic appears as eth0: Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM5706 1000Base-T (A2) PCI-X 64-bit 100MHz

1.2.11 nfs_flush_file_handle_cache_dir problems
Hi chaps We're using the mbox_snarf plugin to snarf mail from /var/mail/%U to ~%U/Mail/inbox and using dotlocking on all accesses. This is on Solaris with NFS mounted home directories. We're getting a few (very few) of these for just a couple of users: Error: nfs_flush_file_handle_cache_dir: rmdir(/var/mail) failed: Device busy Which, having searched, I see some discussion of in the

Why? running samba-2.2.3a with domainname CPB. ================ groups.kix ====================== $index = 0 DO $group = ENUMGROUP($index) ? $group $index = $index + 1 UNTIL Len($group) = 0

Yum question - RHEL4
Hi this is technically a RHEL4 question but i hope it can be answered here... Does RHEL4 do yum OK ? I kix a lot of boxes and it would be great to run the update after the build automajically rather than running through the up2date registration and using that method. I would also rather not pay lots for satellite server. If i setup my own RHEL repo can i use yum against this? Or any other

Sysvol
Hi , We ran the classicupgrade today and have come across an issue with sysvol. The users are getting access denied message when accessing sysvol/netlogn. Other shares are ok. The administrator can access the sysvol and netlogin root at dozer5-ad:/var/lib/samba# ls -al total 67 drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 11 May 10 17:33 . drwxr-xr-x 32 root root 32 May

alternative to rocks cluster
Hi I am after a solution where i can easily kickstart many, read hundreds, of boxes in a short time frame. Perhaps the way i install software is to actually re-kix the box with a new software baseline - that type of idea. I have looked at rocks and it looks good but it seems a little rigid in that i need to be able to determine certain things like hostname etc as in our env hostname

Login scripts and Win9x clients
Hi all, I have two systems using Win98 and one using Win95. These three systems do not automatically execute their login scripts. I can map the network drives manually and tell them to reconnect at login, but I am wondering why they don't execute them. I can log in, browse to my netlogon share (if I make it browseable), and execute the script manually, and it works. Well, it mostly

Netlogon from win9x using Kixtart to Samba server
Hi, I would want Samba shares to be automatically mounted as logicals drives on win9x machines. For this i try to use KIXTART (http://www.kixtart.org), a logon script processor for Windows. The advantage is that a unique login script may be used for all the users. The shares need to be mounted accordingly to the unix groups the user belongs to. Fo example, if a user belongs to the IT and TOTO

installing printer in a logon script
Hello, I have Samba 3 PDC and win2k sp4 client. I would like to install printer on a machine globally, for all users. To do this, I use: net use X: \\server\unattended /user:domain\unattended password rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /q /y /ga /in /n \\server\HP2000C First line is mounting share (Administrator is not logged to the domain), and the second line is to install printer.

Error with adehabitatHR and kernelbb
Dear all, I'm trying to get a Brownian bridge kernel (kernelbb) for each combination of two consecutive animal locations (see commands below) and put them, with a loop, inside a list. It works well at the beginning but after 42 runs, it appears the following warning : >Error in seq.default(yli[1], yli[2], by = diff(xg[1:2])) :  >  invalid (to - from)/by in seq(.) I looked at the

how to divide a string into characters? - for comparing strings that is
Hi I am searching for a way to do something like "ABC" -> c("A","B","C"). How can this be accomplished? I tried cut() and split(), but they do something else, it seems. The purpose for doing this is to find the number of common (and uncommon) characters, i.e. ultimately I want something like this: > foo("ABD","ADE") c(2,1) # 2

somewhat OT--windows logon script
Hi Group, We use a simple logon script to map drives for our users. If we put the following line: net use /delete * /yes then no drives are mapped on the workstations. If we rem it out, the script works fine. Full script below: net use /delete * /yes net use e: \\server5\peachtree net use w: \\server5\contract_maintenance net use t: \\server5\fleet net use x: \\server5\allusers net use u:

does this sound like any kind of R procedure to you?
I apologize that this is not precisely about R, but it does fall into the "what would an R user do?" category of questions. My colleague came to me and said "I have data on 20 countries, 4 elections in each one. I have measures for each election on a number of things, and I want to know if the change from one election to the next follows a pattern. For example, is the measure

Commercial license?
Hi there Is there a commercial license for using Rsync or the Rsync algorithm within a commercial product? I appreciate that Rsync as it stands is GNU and therefore it cannot be used in this way, but I thought that I would ask the list. I understand that it is open source, but we have an application that would benefit from something like Rsync and therefore thought we would ask the question. If

[OT] IAX2 WiFi phone?
Does such a beastie exist? I've tried a couple of UT Starcom WiFi SIP phones (the F1000g and F3000 respectively), and found them both to be seriously lacking - regular crashes (especially the F3000), poor battery life, and poor reception in particular. However, whilst SIP phones are great, I'd really like an IAX2 phone if there is one, as I can make that work "natively" though

[RFC] llvm-exegesis: Automatic Measurement of Instruction Latency/Uops
[You can find an easier to read and more complete version of this RFC here <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QidaJMJUyQdRrFKD66vE1_N55whe0coQ3h1GpFzz27M/edit?ts=5aaa84ee#> .] Knowing instruction scheduling properties (latency, uops) is the basis for all scheduling work done by LLVM. Unfortunately, vendors usually release only partial (and sometimes incorrect) information. Updating the
