This NT server makes each day a backup of some directories on the NT server. what I want to realise is, make a NFS directory on the SCO unix server pointed to the NT server. Samba 2.0.6 on SCO Unix 5.0.5
We seem to be experiencing some problems with Samba 2.0.6 on SCO Unix Openserver 5.0.5. I'm wondering if anybody else is using this version of Samba on SCO. I used an older version 3 years ago and rarely had a problem. I just installed this version and am experiencing an annoying problem: We use windows 95, 98 and NT4.0 (SP3/SP6) workstations. All passwords are set to clear text. The samba

Samba 2.0.3 SCO Unix 3.2v4.2 and Shadow files
Basically I've found that the 2.0.3 version of Samba is not supporting shadowed password files on SCO Unix 3.2v4.2. It appears to be doing it on SCO Unix OSR5 however. This shows up both in smbd and swat. We found this out by playing with the newest version on a SCO Unix OSR5 box. I recompiled the software on that box for a SCO 3.2v4.2 box but was unable to get the resulting binary to work

Samba on SCO Unix
I'm trying to run Samba on SCO Unix Openserver Version 5. After starting smbd and nmbd, I try to list the shares on the server by running "smbclient -U% -L localhost" and I get the following error message: "session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.)" Has anyone seen this before on SCO or

SCO Unix Sys V - Rel. 3.2.4.2 / rsync problem
Salim: I suspect that if you check the timestamp, you'll find that that binding failure is left over from an earlier attempt, before you were properly configured. Your description of you inetd.conf/services setup sounds correct. Your commandline, though, shouldn't work. You name a directory as the source, but don't say to do its contents. However, I would expect an error from

openssh-2.1.1p4 and sco 5.0.5
Hi folks, just I installed openssh 2.1.1p4 on a sco OpenServer 5.0.5 machine and it works fine. The only problem I have is the X11 forwarding. I have allowed this feature in the /etc/sshd_config and the /etc/ssh_config, respectively and the /usr/bin/X11/xauth program was in the PATH during compilation. As you can see in the logfile the sco system enables the X11 forwarding and sets the DISPLAY

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4 (fwd)
You can download Ncurses for SCO OpenServer via ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/skunkware/osr5/vols/ncurses-4.2-VOLS.tar This is a tar archive of media images suitable for installation with the SCO Software Manager (/etc/custom). SCO OpenServer
I think what I need is a prebuilt package. I currently use Samba 2.2.12 running on SCO OpenServer 5.0.6 but I am in the process of upgrading to 5.0.7. Can't move to SCO version 6 because our application isn't guaranteed to work on it.
