How to find all single minima, i.e. only each one within each next part of analyzed vector (table)
Dear R users,
How to find all single minima within each next part of analyzed vector (table)
Select all minima (mass_value=min & mass_value<2)
(many) in vector(table),
BUT first put mask on table in order to select
within one window mask (5 elements) only one local minimum, and next to search within
the next time window mask the second minimum (only one local along second mask)

Home drive and logon scripts intermitently not applied
Hi folks,
This problem has been driving me nuts for the last 3 years... Now I am
running Samba 4.0.9 but the very same was happening before the
migration to AD, with Samba 3.x. Most clients are running WinXP SP3
with all updates.
The problem is that both the logon script and home drive defined on
the "Profile" tab on the AD Users and Computers MMC, *RANDOMLY* and
*INTERMITENTLY* does

Help! WinXP failed to logon via Samba
I got a NT PDC and an Samba server (ver. 2.2.3a) that participates in the domain
'NT_DOMAIN'.
The Samba server provide file and print sharing to my private network, but it
authenticates user indirectly via the 'NT_1' PDC.
All the PC clients (Win98) were configured to logon to "workgroup" instead of
domain. This has been always fine until some guies brought in XP Home

Samba/WinXP domain-logon
I'm trying to use my samba as domain controller and logon-server for my
WinXP-client. I can see all the shares, and get access to them using
user/password, but when trying to join the domain, it fails with "The
specified user does not exist", even though it does.
The server-log says "smbd/server.c:exit_server(458)".
Can anyone help?

unsuccessful domain logon on WinXP with nss-mysql
Dear Colleagues,
I successfully installed Samba-3.0.14a-Debian for a set of Windows 98
workstations for ~900 users in a grammar school in Hungary. I am using
nss-mysql-1.0 for authentication and Samba also uses it perfectly.
Unfortunately, I have no success in the same network under Windows XP. If I
try to use standard Unix authentication via /etc/{passwd,shadow,group}, then
I also have correct

Offline logon from Winxp/2000 Client doesn't work
Hello,
I've installed samba 3.0.24 recently and since then I cannot login on my
Windowsclients if they are disconnected. If I have a connection
everything is fine. I'm at a loss what else to do. The only hints for
offline logons I've found all refer to the use of samba with ADS. I have
only one samba server in my network(no winbind). The clients are
unchanged to my prior

WinXP Home tincd problem
TincList,
I have set up tinc on many windows boxes, and never with this problem
before. The machine is running tinc-1.0.2, with all of the proper files
set up. We are using the tap-win32 adapter, and it is installed correctly.
I even uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter when I saw this problem. No
affect.
The user running the tincd demon is the administrator, and no personal

WinXP Pro, Profiles and Home Dirs
Hey,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before or if a solution is in the archive,
this is rather a semi-urgent request.
We have a PDC (Samba 2.2.5) mostly with Win98 clients, a few XP clients. We
can join these to the domain thanks to the registry
patch, however, sometimes (it's random, or appears to be), we login a user
who HASN'T previously logged into the XP system before and it

WinXP Home Edition and Samba File Share
I am running Samba 2.2.7 on RedHat 7.3.
I can see the Samba Share on the Peer to Peer Network. The share
will stay active for a period of time (different every time) and then
time out and put a red "x" over the share in My Computer.
The samba share is the company's shared data. They then need to
double click the red "x" and re-connect to the samba share.
Annoying!

winxp home login to samba shares
Hello
I would like to move Samba shares from my debian onto an uhu (hungarian
linux distro)
The base things are ok, but there is a little problem when I try to
reach shares from my winxp home. As the networking is missing from
home version (no domain logon, etc, as it exists in pro version) samba
should ask user:pass for each time (after rebooting or disconnecting).
My debian works like that,

Samba + WinXP Home
Hello. I'm trying to get Samba 3.2.5 working with Windows XP Home.
Reputedly, XP Home still has peer-to-peer networking, so that's what I'm
trying to use, but I can't get it to work. Samba is set up on my Debian
Lenny machine, and I can contact the shares using smbclient, but I can't
get Windows Explorer to see the shares.
For the last four days, I've been searching

"logon path" and "logon home" settings return different values in 3.0.13?
When exactly did the samba meaning/returns for "logon path" and "logon
home" change? (at which version?)
We used to have a system that appeared to be working well and it was as
follows
logon script = logon.bat
logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U
logon drive = h:
logon home = \\%L\%U\.profile
domain logons = Yes
and the [profiles] share had the following

WinXP rsync local copy to USB drive
I've encountered an error while trying to "find" my way to
my goal. But first, let me state my goal in case there is a
pre-canned solution that does what I want (which would avoid
the effort of figuring out the error...):
I want to invoke the rsync *client* (but NOT the server) to
make a local copy from one windows drive to another. Ie.

logon drive, ldap ssl = start_tls, ssh and client/server encryption (and logon.bat permission tip)
Dear list,
More questions on my PDC travels ;-)
1. Is it ok, with roaming profiles on, to leave "logon drive = "
empty, as this drive seems to be confusing users?
2. All my ldap stuff is using tls, and I just want to confirm that
"ldap ssl = start_tls" is looking in /etc/ldap.conf for certificate
locations etc.?
3. Is all traffic between Windows clients and the Samba
