Question about samba 4 member server of a pure Windows AD
Hi,
What you're trying to do is mixing RID and rfc2307. This is not possible.
I've the same kind of issue here (Samba 3 migrated DC with samba unix
users created in the same range as regular unix users), but still use
rfc2307 so I can renumber users one by one as follow :
* Save old uid (1000-2000 range)
* Give a new one (10000+ range)
* Launch a command like (multiple -e are

how to use the stdin module?
Perhaps I've done something similar but on Debian and not know if it
will work in Windows.
I've used vlc to receive any audio from the Internet and ices2 as a
source client. It works perfectly fine as a repeater.

how to use the stdin module?
Moin,
I compiled icecast under cygwin (yes, I have to use Windows 7 togehter with
cygwin).
The audio stream that I want to distribute come from stdin, like I get it from
curl http://streamingserver.foo.bar/stream/stream.php |
But how to proceed? Should I just pipe this to | icecast -c etc/icecast.xml?
It does not work.
Thanks for any hint!

how to crypt hard linked backups?
Moin,
I wrote a backup script, that use rsync and its hardlink features. Now I want
to implement a new feature to my script: crypt the backuped files. But I
wonder how this can be done? Because rsync check if the source file is
different from the target file. But the target file will be allways different
if it is crypt; right?
Any idea?
Thanks

how to overwrite DLLs?
Moin,
I can define the load order for specific applications using winecfg. But what
is the propper way to copy these DLLs from a 'real' windows box? Just
owerwrite the wine-ddl in windows/system32/ ? But isn't this the 'build in'
DLL, that should be used for applications with load order 'Build in'?
Sorry I am confused.

uid x sid on LDAP
Hi there,
I'm the process of centralizing user authentication for a medium-sized network with a few Linux
servers, some of them runnng samba. The idea is migrating all user definitions from both
/etc/{passwd,shadow,groups} and samba tdb to a central LDAP directory.
Most servers had the same set of users, but as each one was administered in isolation (no NIS not
all samba servers were part of

renumber a list of numbers
Greetings R users,
I am trying to renumber my groups within the file shown below. The groups
are currently set as 8,9,10,etc. I would like to renumber this as
1,2,3,etc. I have searched the help files and only come across using the
rownames to renumber the values but I need to match values. Any assistance
is always appreciated,
Regards,

wine 1.1.4 and 2nd soundcard (alsa)
Moin,
I am using a kind of VoIP Software (Echolink) that run perfekt with the build
in soundcard. But I want to use my headset, that appears as soundcard 1
(hw:1.0).
I can choose the soundcard in Echolink (default, external and system default),
but this goes to the build in card independent from this setting.
Can I configure wine to use the 2nd card? Or can I configure wine to use the

Moin,
is there a way to configure bash in a way that all exe files are executed by
wine, not direct? E.g. ./sol.exe should result in wine ./sol.exe anyhow.
Thanks

Deleting voicemail by program
Hi all,
I need to be able to delete a voicemail message using a program.
Is is sufficient to simply delete the .wav and .txt files in the spool directory?
Or do I need to also renumber the remaining files?
For example, let say a given mailbox has 20 messages in it and I want to
delete message number 5. Can I just delete the 2 files and expect that
asterisk will renumber them? Or do I

X-UID: 4085788205 != 2147483647
Hi,
Dovecot (at least versions 0.99.10.4, 0.99.11, 1.0rc15, rc17 and rc18)
allows message Unique Identifiers to be an unsigned 32 bit value, so
something like "X-UID: 4085788205" is allowed.
Some IMAP clients I've tested (Thunderbird 1.5.0.9, SquirrelMail
1.4.9a/PHP 4.3.2) appear to use signed 32 bit identifiers and request
the above message as UID 2147483647 (max signed 32 bit

There is only a windows version available at the moment.
It was no problem to install the application. But starting the application

unexpected plot behavior
When plotting a numerical vector against a factor, 'type="n"' seems to have no affect, e.g.

looks just like

Plotting a numerical against itself works as expected:

I see the same behavior under debian gnu/linux, Mac OS X, and Win7 (all current versions,
