adding LPT port to wine? Acrobat 5/PDFWriter installation problem
hi all,
I'm using the official wine-20041201-0.1 on Sue 9.1 (i386). I used
winetools 2.10 to facilitate my wine installation and it was a godsand. I
have installed Office 2000 and so far so good, but I like to extend my wine
functionality just a bit more.
I like to install Acrobat 5 (not reader) with PDFWriter on my wine
installation. The problem I have is that, during the

Selecting Samba Printer Port
I have a strange problem here. I have a network of Windows NT and XP clients that print to printers shared by Samba.
When I double click on the printer icon, the queue opens and it says in the title bar, "Initializing", then "Failed to connect, Retrying".
I was able to resolve this on Windows NT by created "Samba Printer Port" as a local port. Unfortunatly in

Desperately need help with two printer issues
I just moved a new user onto my Samba server. He needs two things, and
neither of them work!
1. When he tries to access one of the printers, he gets Access denied. Only
for one of them. I can't find anything in the logs. When I try to access
the printer as his user, I get:
[2004/12/06 11:16:59, 5] smbd/uid.c:change_to_root_user(296)
change_to_root_user: now uid=(0,0) gid=(0,0)

Setup Windows XP to print to CUPS printer on FC5
I am quite sure this question has been asked before but I can't find
anything in the archive and Google does not turn up anything useful.
I have Fedora Core 5 with an HP LaserJet 5L printer connected to the
LPT port. I also have the CUPS printer queue shared.
I am trying to setup up a Windows XP laptop with wlan on my home
network to be able to print to that printer.
I have little

Wine NT Services / Serial Port
Hi!
I'm currently working on a project to upgrade my car's display with NAV...
Due to prohibitive high costs of oem solutions (and limited use except for
nav), I decided to use a laptop, runnig that software...
So, I already have MS Autoroute 2001 (european version). Against my
expectations, this program runs fine with Wine release 20011004. However,
the GPS Add-In doesn't work.

'system error 5 has occured' when mapping printer
Hi all,
I have had this issue for a really long time that I had a workaround
for, but this workaround
has caused more harm than good.
The issue is when mapping 'LPT1'
I know this is a local LPT port, etc and I know that non-administrators
cannot map this port.
The port is needed by a legacy application, and it cannot be changed
until this application goes the way of all things.
So,

File locking in a cluster
Hi,
I have 2 Sun T1000's running Solaris 10 and Sun Cluster 3.2.
They are each connected to a fibre attached SATA RAID array which they
use as data storage area for PC clients.
Both servers are running Samba 3.0.25c.
The problem I have is that when a PC client access a file via Samba
running on server-a and another client accesses the same file via Samba
on server-b no locking is happening.

I was also wondering if the IDE port tests OK, could I test

Can't add windows printer drivers from windows
I am having trouble adding windows printer drivers to samba server. I am
trying to configure a stand alone samba print server on Ubuntu karmic 64
bit server.
I have cups working and have added a few printers. I can see the printers
in samba and I can print to them if I add the print drivers manually, but
I want my clients to just be able to add the printer and have the drivers

I have installed the following printers using the GUI printconfig
Lp0 = HP1200
Lp1 = OKI320
Lp2 = OKI321

I have checked permissions on the /var/lpd directories and

logon script trouble (net use lpt)
Hello, I encountered a problem while I tried to get domain logons with logon
scripts to work.
It occurs on Win98SE only, as far as my tests.
Domain logon is ok, but sometimes while executing the logon script windows is
unable to redirect
LPT ports to a print share using:
net use lpt1: \\samba\printer
I get:

I am currently downloading CentOS-4.4-i386-bin1of4.iso and was wondering
