Errors transferring forestdns and domaindns FSMO roles
I am attempting to transfer the all FSMO roles from an old DC to our new DC. Both DCs are running Samba 4.7.3. I have transferred the Schma, Infrastructure, RID, PDC and Naming roles without issue. unfortunately, the forestdns and domaindns roles are giving me grief. Here is the output of the commands root at dc1:~# samba-tool fsmo transfer --role=forestdns ldb_wrap open of secrets.ldb

R Reference Card (especially useful for Newbies)
Newbies (and others!) may find the R Reference Card made available by Tom Short and Rpad at http://www.rpad.org/Rpad/Rpad-refcard.pdf useful. It categorizes and organizes a bunch of R's (S's) basic, most used functions so that they can be easily found. For example, paste() is under the "Strings" heading and expand.grid() is under "Data Creation." For newbies

Active Directory member problem
Hello I have added a Linux member server (my laptop) to our production Windows 2003 ADS domain (with net ads join, not net rpc join). Yet, when I browse to it from an Xp client (member of the domain) I still get a username/password dialog. What works: - wbinfo -g and wbinfo -u show usernames and passwords (without DOMAIN+ prefix) - getent passwd works - smbclient and logging in to the member

Using Samba AD/DC as an Active Directory OAuth provider for OpenShift
Hi everyone, I have a working Samba AD/DC (4.12.6 on RHEL7.8) setup I'm trying to use with OpenShift (a container platform to which RedHat contributes - aka OCP). I'm also not too skilled on LDAP even though I've been running the above for over two years now.. There are typically two steps involved in connecting AD to OCP: 1) declare an OAuth configuration in OCP (requires a bind

pam_winbind - losing domain membership
Hello, I have the following setup: SuSE 9.1 with samba and winbind installed. On the other side is a nt4 domain. I can join the domain with "net rpc join DOMAIN -U administrator". wbinfo -u shows me alle the users etc. I integrated the pam_winbind.so in my pam configuration and users can login with their nt login and password. Samba 3.0.28 failing to authenticate on Win2003 Server Active Directory
I have set up a Fedora 8 server running Samba 3.0.28a-0.fc8 (the Fedora yum package version). I have successfully joined the server to the AD realm of a Win2003 server on the office network. Configuration was done following this guide: http://www.howtoforge.com/samba-domaincontroller-swat-fedora8-p3 However Authentication against the AD server does not work. When I test winbind with: #

Searching for antilog function
Dear R-users, I have a basic question about how to determine the antilog of a variable. Say I have some number, x, which is a factor of 2 such that x = 2^y. I want to figure out what y is, i.e. I am looking for the antilog base 2 of x. I have found log2 in the Reference Manual. But I am struggling how to get the antilog of that. Any help will be appreciated! > version platform
