Samba4 bug - "mount error(5): Input/output error"
Hi Rowland, do you maybe have any idea what could potentially cause this bug? smbclient thrwos me back a mount error(5): Input/output error when I try to mount the remote smbFS. It doesn't happen with my MacOSx and Windows 7 as client but it happens with Linux OSs and with a Konica Minolta copy machine with a scanner to samba function. The first try to mount fails with the above error.

force group does not work
Hi I set up a samba 4.1.4 server on the latest FreeBSD RELEASE 10. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to consider the option force group. After hours ofresearch I couldn't figure out what I'm still missing. unix extensions is set to no. Setting the debug level up to 10 also didn't help ;( Is this a bug or is there simply a mistake in my setup? When *valid users = @Groupname* is

More strangeness with ZFS and Samba
A new problem now. Running Samba 3.5.4, on Solaris 10 with zfs. Issue with Microsoft Office 2007: User opens up a .xlsx, then closes the file (Not Excel). Then user reopens the .xlsx file and now Excel says the file is read-only. But permissions on the file have not changed! Only fix is to exit out of Excel and restart, then user can open that file just fine. The issue also looks to be tied

Unable to open a particular share.
Hello everybody, we have a strange behaviour since a BDC was rebooted. We have an infrastructure were one big Samba server is defined as a PDC, and a few others servers are defined as BDC. This infrastructure is deployed in a school, so we have the PDC and one BDC for each section of the school (college, elementary school ...). Most of the clients computers are Windows XP, and the servers

Very strange ACL issue
Hello, I upgraded from Samba 3.0.2 to 3.0.4 on my Redhat Enterprise system and am now seeing something very strange with POSIX ACL?s. We have several shared directories setup with per-directory group permissions (In other words each directory has its own group in active directory). This way if we want to give a user access to a directory we just add them to the group. After upgrading too 3.0.4

File permissions getting destroyed with M$ software on ZFS
All, Running Samba 3.5.4 on Solaris 10 with ZFS file system. I have issues where we have shared group folders. In these folders a userA in GroupA create file just fine with the correct inherited permissions 660. Problem is when userB in GroupA reads and modifies that file, with M$ office apps, the permissions get whacked to 060+ and the file becomes read only by everyone. I did

Channel banks for E1
Hello all, please, can anyone advertise me some channel banks, which can operate with E1 (30 FXS)? Rack-mountable option is welcome. I've tried to google, but I've not found nothing appropriate. More than one E1 link is welcome too. Everyone channel banks, which I've found, was between T1 and FXS(O), but I have Digium E1 card and I want use for one line 30 channels and not only 24.

[LLVMdev] Regular Expression lib support

The external version in v8 sadly does code generation. I could look into open sourcing the non-code-generating simple version we use, if you want. But given that speed is not a concern,

[LLVMdev] Regular Expression lib support
We would like to have access to some kind of regular expression library inside LLVM. For example, we need this to extend the FileCheck test case checking tool to support regular expressions. There are three obvious options: 1. Roll our own library. Multiple unnamed individuals may even already have implementations lying around! :) 2. Use POSIX regcomp facilities. This implies importing some

Problems running dbench on 3.3
To test gluster's behavior under heavy load, I'm currently doing this on two machines sharing a common /mnt/gfs gluster mount: ssh bal-6.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs ssh bal-7.example.com apt-get install dbench && dbench 6 -t 60 -D /mnt/gfs One of the processes usually dies pretty quickly like this: [608] open
