rsync via restricted ssh command=
I've read a few tutorials about how to use rsync via ssh using the command= functionality to restrict where the user can sync to. I've got this on the on the destination side in it's ~/.ssh/authorized_keys... command="rsync --server -vvnlogDtpre.iLsf --timeout=999 . bkp",no-port-forwarding,no-X11-forwarding,no-agent-forwarding ssh-rsa AAetc I've tried variations of the

changing clock on host temporarily blocks guest OS operation
I have the following running on my system: - one linux host running libvirt 1.2.20 - two Linux guestOS VMs running When I change the clock on the host, the VMs stop responding: The VNC connection stops working, the console connection to the VMs does not work, ping stops reponding, libvirt commands temporarily stop working (after issuing the command, the system just hangs). Odd 'hang' trying to ls a directory ...
Running -STABLE from May 15th, if I do an 'ls /usr', it works ... if I do an 'ls /vm', it hangs .. the machine doesn't hang, as far as I can tell, all the web sites are accessible, and there are no errors in /var/log/messages .. I have soft-updates disabled on that file system, and iostat is showing the drive array to be quite idle: tty da0 pass0

Problems with crashing IBM X3630 M3/ZFS
Hello. I've got a quartet of IBM x3630 M3 with one that is frequently hard locking under heavy NFS load. I am running 9.0-RELEASE with all the patches from freebsd-update. My problem machine has 8 16 core clients, each doing IO intensive tasks connected to it via a Procurve and the onboard igb0 interface. Mostly network reads, typically 10MB read per MB written. When the machine locks

May be deadlock for wrong locking order, patch request reviewed, thanks
As we test the ocfs2 cluster, the cluster is sometime hangs up. I got some information about the dead lock, which cause the cluster hangs up, the sys dir / lock is held and the node did not release it which cause the cluster hangs up. root at cvknode-21:~# ps -e -o pid,stat,comm,wchan=WIDE-WCHAN-COLUMN | grep D PID STAT COMMAND WIDE-WCHAN-COLUMN 7489 D jbd2/sdh-621

Rails, FCGI, Dreamhost
Is anybody getting acceptable performance with a Rails application on Dreamhost? By this, I mean response times no greater than 3 seconds, and no large numbers of FCGI processes that you have to kill manually. If so, how? I''ve ended up running a constant ping script (once every ten minutes), and still have to kill some number of excess dispatch.fcgi processes every day. Along with

poor write performance or locking issues with ocfs2
Hello all, I've got heavy troubles with my ocfs2 environment. Cluster filesystem worked fine for about 3-6 weeks after initial setup, but since 1 week performance issues occurs. I've already searched long time in google and on this mailing list but I wasn't able to found any solution. I've found a lot of posts with "same" problems but without the magic answer :-)

OT: vmware server not accepting root password?
Sorry for the OT question; I'm hoping someone else has a similar setup and ran into this same problem? For some reason, not sure what I changed, my vmware server is no longer accepting the root login for the management console or web mui interface. I'm certain the password is correct, and I've even reset root's password to make sure. VMware seems to be running ok, I can access

7.0-stable: a hung process - scheduler bug?
Hello! I was trying to build OpenOffice using all of my 4 CPUs. To be able to do other work on the machine comfortably, I ran the build under nice, and assigned real-time priority to the two Xorg processes. The build started at about 23:10 last night, and hung at 23:46. The procstat output for the make's process group is: PID PPID PGID SID TSID THR LOGIN WCHAN EMUL

Kernel lockup (kjournald?)
I am getting an odd situation when backing up a number of ext3 filesystems and was wondering if it could be caused by journalling. Over the space of a minute the load average will jump from 2 to over 40 and the system will be unresponsive for anywhere from 8 to 25 minutes. I am going to be trying a number of things, but was wondering if anyone could see the reason for the high load given the

wait_on_inode
Folks, I have a system that has a sporadic problem, and I can't seem to find any info on Google about it. I am running a variant of 2.4.9-34. A certain process is locking access to a filesystem, so that any subsequent access to it hangs the shell. I'm seeing: #ps xwo pid, command, wchan |grep inode 21062 <program name> wait_on_inode Looking at the source code, I can see that

Deafness
Steffen, I checked 993 since I was using SSL for sending/receiving but imagine it?ll look the same if I check any of the other ports. When I tested via telnet, I checked from my home, not on the server to itself. ?telnet host.com imap? I don?t have an answer for you on the state yet since it?s working at the moment. As far as which processes, I try to connect and no matter what, I don?t get
