Socomec UPS
Hi,
I am considering purchasing a UPS and want one that I can query from
bash scripts. I would assume nut to be the best tool to allow this. I
have been directed to a Socomec RT 3000VA UPS.
I have previously had MGE Pulsars and interfaced to them with nut's
mge-utalk and mge-shut drivers with reasonable success, apart from the
odd data stale error.
These Socomec units have RS-232

Duplicate suppression
Hi there,
Does the Dovecot project have plans to implement duplicate suppression
at some stage?
I have a situation where several people belong to more than one mailing
list. One alias ('staff') incorporates several lists. These staff are
receiving duplicate messages (one copy for every list they're on) when a
message is sent to this staff alias. There is no reason they need to

Dovecot authenticating---> Active Directory Win2003
Hello list,
I have installed 4 Etch, with dovecot 1.0.rc15-2, and I wanted that when
the users make IMAP/POP3, the dovecot verifies the user/passwd in a Active
Directory of Windows 2003.
Greetings

- On the redhat, I already have setup smb.conf, krb5.conf, nsswitch.conf, pam.d/login, pam.d/system_auth. I have pasted all these files below.

Debian and dovecot
I have Debian 3.0 (woody) and installed the dovecot packages and it works ok
with the default configuration. I want to change the default configuration,
is any of this possible?
a) I don't want to create accounts for each user, can I have a mailboxes
directory with the mailboxes of all the users? They are not many (10-15).
b) The authentication right now is done through PAM, the

Problems authenticating Ubuntu 8.04 client (gdm) against Samba (Ubuntu 8.04) domain server
Hello,
Does anyone have a working pam configuration that allows gdm logins? My
current config works with ssh and bash logins. I'd like gdm to work
with usernames like DOMAIN\\USERNAME.

Cannot print from Win2003 R2
Hi,
We have a Windows 2003 R2 server (Enterprise, 64-bit, SP2) and for some reason, cannot print to our samba exported printers.
I can add the printer to the system, all drivers are available, but any
attempt to print results in either "Printing failed when starting
document" (Firefox), "Test page failed to print." when doing a test
page or just a greyed out print button

In the beginning, there was mud...
A couple of days ago, I was given the task of replacing a mail server -- old
hardware, network topology changes, and personnel changes led up to this.
Now, the actual swapout of a mail server is relatively straightforward and
(somewhat) easy to do. But this one had a wrench -- I had to authenticate
off of an NT4 domain. There were some other, smaller, wrenches as well, but
they have nothing to

mounting an AD share upon login
Hi everyone,
I am having trouble mounting a share on my AD server upon login.
I am using pam_mount. Here is log activity when user 'peter' logs in
(with Ubuntu client) and is authenticated by AD server. There is a
share called 'peter' on the server (netbios name WIN2003) and the mount
point is /home/PRIVATE/peter (see later for pam_mount.conf file):

lost trust with win2k -> win2003 upgrade
Hi all.
We are trying to migrate our domain controllers to win2003 and
for some reason, samba loses its trust relationship with the server
once the PDC has been upgraded.
I'm running Samba 2.2.11.
Normally, "wbinfo -t" returns "Secret is good.", but after the server
was upgraded to win2003, the trust was lost and it started saying
"Secret is bad."
