[PATCH] Support GSS-SPNEGO natively
I cooked this up while trying to figure out why thunderbird on Windows w/ SSPI was not working, but it turned out thunderbird does not use it, so I haven't been able to test it yet. I'm presenting it for discussion only, unless someone else can try it :) Modern versions of MIT kerberos support GSS-SPNEGO natively, but are only willing to negotiate for kerberos tickets and not NTLM

OpenSSH 4.3p2, MIT KfW 3.0 and Cygwin
Has anyone successfully built openssh with MIT's KfW (Kerberos for Windows) under Cygwin? Is it even possible? Searching around I found one reference to Nicolas Williams attempting to do this several years ago, but no indication of success and nothing more recent. http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2002-01/msg00100.html What about compiling openssh using a native windows compiler? Need help with GSSAPI authentication

Samba4 DC, SPNs and a complex Windows stack
Hello, We're using Samba 4.1.11 as domain controllers and over the past two weeks I've run into several issues with unrelated Windows software, the problems of which all point to Kerberos authentication and SPNs as being somehow involved. If there are many more issues it might start to get politically difficult *not* to blame the DCs, and I don't want to point fingers at Samba. Are

Temporary tables with Microsoft SQL?
I can create a temp table with MySQL and R DBI[1], but I don't see how to do the same with Microsoft SQL 2005 and RODBC. R 2.8.1 creates the table, but then it can never see it. I'm looking to avoid replacing the convenience functions like sqlSave(). [1] https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2009-March/190033.html > library(RODBC) > channel <-

I can't join to an existing domain (yet)
People: I have not solved my problem. I have only one DC with Zentyal 3.4 and I want to change it by samba 4.1.16. That's why if I can't join the samba to the existing domain I would not do anything else. The samba server error is this: (Command from samba) samba-tool domain join dtcf.etecsa.cu DC -U administrator --realm=DTCF.ETECSA.CU --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ (Response) No

Kerberos password auth/expiry kbdint patch
I took Markus Friedl's advice and set up a KbdintDevice for Kerberos password authentication/expiry. It took me a bit to wrap my head around privsep, but I think it's working properly (code stolen shamelessly from FBSD's PAM implementation :->). The hardest part was working out how to get the interaction between krb5_get_init_creds_password() (along with the prompter) to work

If you don't already have an smb.conf, or the one in /etc/samba is empty, you can copy the sample one from /usr/share/samba-xxxx/examples/smb.conf.default to /etc/samba/smb.conf. Cheers, Paul
