RFC: Use tcp-wrapper for all connections to upsd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
after some experimenting and digging through the code i found no solution
how to completely disable access to upsd from specific hosts.
In previous versions (before r1233) it was possible to allow or deny
access to upsd completely by using ACL, ACCEPT and REJECT entries in
upsd.conf. As this functionality was removed and tcp-wrappers support

Hi,

correctly.
my smb.conf file containes the following two lines:

smbd (3.0.20pre2) crashes at startup, was: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916
Hi all,
at first glance, samba3.20.pre2 seemed to crash at startup, so I posted
a bug-report at bugzilla (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916).
After I installed this version in a seperate directory, so it wouldn't
conflict with any existing *.tdb, but still use the same ldap-directory
and the same smb.conf, it now starts. I assume that I have some
.tdb-file or something alike,

BUG: samba-3.0.14a & samba-3.0.20pre2 endless loop AIX 5.3 (jfs2) & Win98
Hi,
I have replaced an older AIX system with a new one running AIX 5.3, all
the latest patches. It is acting as a PDC (I think irrelevant). The
old server was running AIX 4.3.2 with Samba 3.0.14a (upgraded from
2.0.7) , and was working 100% fine. I had the old server running 3.0.14a
for 6 weeks prior to the upgrade as part of my migration plan.
There are Windows 98 boxes that connect to

AIO settings
Looked through the smb.conf.5 from 3.0.20pre2 for additional info on the
aio settings but didn't seem to find them.
I'm setting this up on AIX 5.2 and just wondered what where recommended
starting values...and non-zero values activate the AIO code paths?
Cheers,

Cups printers autoloading and windows drivers
Hello samba team !
I have configured a samba4 printer with CUPS as backend. And I have
enabled the "load printers = yes" option in smb.conf.
Nearly everything works well !
-> Samba detect the CUPS printers
-> The printers appear automatically in the "printers" share
-> On windows 7 I can add the server the printmanagement.msc and I see
the printers
-> I can upload

Windows Printing and Line Widths
Hi all,
I develop and print from both Windows and Linux, and am seeing some
printing inconsistencies first described about a year and a half ago by
Andy Liaw (see below). Specifically, the line widths on my windows plots
are about 5 times smaller than that on Linux, and my windows printouts
do not match what my screen looks like. However, if I print to a pdf
file first, then I can get accurate

ADS mode - differences between W2K and 2003?
I'm having a bizarre problem doing authentication via winbind against a
Windows 2003 server.
Aside from changing the hostname information, etc. as appropriate for
krb5.conf and smb.conf, the configuration I'm using is one that I copied from
another server that is successfully authenticating against ads.
The two systems I'm having trouble with are running Suse Linux Enterprise

Is anyone successfully using Solaris 8/Samba 3.0.x w/ads and OpenLDAP > 2.1.22?
Has anyone had success getting OpenLDAP > 2.1.22 to work with Samba
and ADS.
I can get 2.1.22 to work with Samba 3.0.x. If I try a newer version,
it barfs when it calls ldap_set_option in function ads_do_search.
I've tried with 3.0.14a and 3.0.20pre2.
They changed how OpenLDAP interacts with Kerberos after 2.1.23. I did
exchange some emails with the OpenLDAP developers. It wasn't
