permissions change from windows doesn't work
Hi,
After three days of googling, searching in this list, reading parts of the
pdf, and testing, I surrender: please help !
Summary:
I'm running 3.0.10a (binary from www.sunfreeware.com) on Solaris
2.6 in standalone mode (security=user). I use ACLs on files. I cannot,
from windows (w2k, wxp pro), add a user to the permissions of a file.
Details:

ZFS+NFS+refquota: full filesystems still return EDQUOT for unlink()
We have been using ZFS for user home directories for a good while now.
When we discovered the problem with full filesystems not allowing
deletes over NFS, we became very anxious to fix this; our users fill
their quotas on a fairly regular basis, so it''s important that they
have a simple recourse to fix this (e.g., rm). I played around with
this on my OpenSolaris box at home, read around

zvol used apparently greater than volsize for sparse volume
What does it mean for the reported value of a zvol volsize to be
less than the product of used and compressratio?
For example,
# zfs get -p all home1/home1mm01
NAME PROPERTY VALUE SOURCE
home1/home1mm01 type volume -
home1/home1mm01 creation 1254440045 -
home1/home1mm01 used 14902492672

[LLVMdev] VMKIT: Assertion at build
Hi Fovios,
Do you have a ./lib/j3/LLVMRuntime/LLVMRuntime.inc file being generated?
What does it contain?

Still the same.
Is there any chance that the placement of my directories are causing this?
Also the exact command that fails is

It is compiled by javac to produce Java bytecode. Then vmkit runs the
initialization code of MMTk (through the JIT) and generates the binary code
through llvm.

unexplained error (code 255)
Everything worked, files transferred fine however a -vvv reveals that
the process did not end clean. The error is not seen with -v or even
-vv. Any insight? rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26, running on
Solaris 8.

Hi Nicolas,
I thought MMTk is written in java and it is compiled by javac.

[LLVMdev] VMKIT: Assertion at build
Thanks Favios for finding the problem! I have applied a patch to
Makefile.rules, hopefully it now works without you editing some files.
About VMKIT_SRC_ROOT and PROJ_SRC_ROOT, it is fine to have both in the
code. I find it clearer to use VMKIT_SRC_ROOT.

Why do you disable the JIT? VMKit needs it to compile MMTk.

all connections closed if user gives wrong pwd (#long posting inside)
Hi list,
i have a problem mounting shares on a single client with diffrent usernames. if any user on the client gives a wrong password all existing cifs mounts are closed by the server.
Since this problem occured in a productive environment i set up a testing env and tried to keep it as easy as can be:

[LLVMdev] VMKIT: Assertion at build
Hi Nicolas,
I finally found the root of the problem. Build was unable to locate
llvm-build because it was looking for it in
path/to/vmkit_src/utils/llvm-build while it was located in
path/to/llvm_src/utils/llvm-build
Actually llvm-build's path is defined by the
path/to/llvm_src/Makefile.rules and looks like this
LLVMBuildTool := $(PROJ_SRC_ROOT)/utils/llvm-build/llvm-build

R Installation problem: 'make check' errors
Hi All,
I'm trying to install R from source on an Intel machine running Linux

My ignorance and Fuse (or glusterfs)
I have a very simple test setup of 2 servers each working as a glusterfs-server and glusterfs-client to the other in an afr capacity.
The gluster-c and gluster-s both start up with no errors and are handshaking properly..
One one server, I get the expected behaviour: I touch a file in the export dir and it magically appears in the others mount point. On the other server however, the file

building R, rJava, & Rserve on Centos without admin privileges (or support)
I am trying to build R on a Centos server without admin privileges (or

make. Any suggestions?
Here's the setup...

$ cd $R_HOME; ./configure; make

winbind problem
Hi,
I recently upgraded samba from 3.0.11 3.0.20. It's
integrated with squid 2.5 STABLE 7 with patches for
NTLM bugs.
I am facing problem with NTLM authentication. The
browser hangs and I get following error in
