nss_ldap loop sleeping after ...
Hi,
I rebooted a old Centos 5 box and now its stuck in an ever increasing timeout loop;
nss_ldap: reconnecting tl LDAP server (sleeping # seconds)....
This happens before network services starts.
Any one know how I can break out of this?
I tried booting in single user mode from the grub menu but no dice, the thing keeps nss_ldap looping.
Thanks in advance,

nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server ldap://172.26.1.10 after 1 attempt
Hi,
I had this message repeting many times in my logs:
nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server ldap://172.26.1.10 after 1 attempt
I've search everywhere on the web but the only response i had was :
- network problem
- slapd misconfiguration or poor slapd performance
I finally noticed that i put "idletimeout 30" in slapd.conf.
I didn't think it came from that because i find this

nss_ldap: reconnected to LDAP server ldap://127.0.0.1
Hello, I have a problem that I'm really having trouble figuring out. I
run CentOS Linux 5.5. I have three servers. All have been setup and
running with LDAP authentication for a couple years with absolutely no
problems.
Unfortunately a couple weeks ago, we had a power outage. Ever since, I
am having continuous problems with authentication to the server. I see

dovecot-auth leaves zombies
Hi all,
I have installed and configured dovecot on two different machines, so
I don't have much experience with this server. One installation is
giving me serious problems, that I have a hard time tracing. From the
beginning: the machine is a debian mix (stable/unstable) dovecot
0.9.11, real users authenticated via pam_ldap/nss_ldap. It serves ~70
users, all of them using Outlook, Outlook

nss_ldap breaks puppet
I have installed and configured the puppet client nodes to use LDAP to
authenicate users.
LDAP connection is OK and user can be authenicated via LDAP.
I use nscd and with my ldap config setting specify on /etc/ldap.conf
However, puppet is not happy; and in the /var/log/messages it gives
tons of

Problem with samba 3.0.25b-33
Hi,
our window file server running 3.0.25b-33 (X64) (Sernet rpm)
on SLES 9 SP3 has been stoped working.
The log file shows nothing new. No error ...
Only the clients can not connect to the server. After a restart
of smbd it seems to work for a while.
Any idea ?
Any help is welcome !!

nss_ldap failed to bind to LDAP server 127.0.0.1
Hi All:
Over the weekend I install all the outstanding updates for our
CentOS 4 based server. Since I had been holding off on these until
I had addressed some disk space issues there were a large number
(300+). I know my bad! After installing the updates I rebooted the
system and it took forever to boot and once up there were problems
connecting to some of our SAMBA shares. I checked the messages

LDAP auth load? (looking for advice)
One of the changes my beta testers are testing is switching from NIS to
LDAP for login/auth/homedir lookups; all is working perfectly, Dovecot +
PAM/nss_ldap is A-OK. No issues here, we've been using LDAP lookups on
other servers for years.
I'm wondering about load, specifically if when I switch the entire
company over, will the new authentication load stress my LDAP server to

Hi,
I'm having problems accessing home directories though NFS. This setup uses
