Error in vfs module man page
There is an error in the vfs_shadow_copy man page. The module is described as: "vfs_shadow_copy ? Make a Samba share read only for a specified time period" which is obviously wrong. The error can also be found in the corresponding pages on the Samba site: https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/manpages/ The link "vfs_shadow_copy(8)" has the same erroneous description. As

Access Denied to shares in Lotus Notes and Outlook
Hi All, I don't know if this is a samba problem or not, but if users want to add files as an attachment in Lotus Notes and MS Outlook, and these files reside on samba shares, they get an "access denied" message. This "access denied" message refers to the whole share not only a file. Samba Server version is 3.0.4 on Sparc Solaris 8 acting as AD Member Server (W2K DC).

Samba 3.0.25 plugin changes
Greetings, Before I start digging into making our local passdb plugin work with Samba 3.0.25, is there any heads up I need to know about? I tried to compile the example plugin in samba-3.0.25/examples/pdb, but it fails. See below for a sample of the error messages. If I try to compile the same example that comes with Samba v3.0.24, the example code compiles without any issues? Any

If you have bash-completion-extras (or the equivalent for your bistro) installed, you should be able to type ?man vfs? and hit tab completion to see your list of available vfs objects. > On Oct 30, 2019, at 11:38 AM, Rowland penny via samba <samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > > On 30/10/2019 17:32, torch via samba wrote: >> Is the ?important" vfs objects parameter
