More info on: Solaris 9 + quota = configure script error?
See the mail below, I sent yesterday. When changing the text '*solaris*' in the configure script to 'solaris*', the configure and make is going just fine. In other words: the file include/config.h contains a define for SUNOS5 I don't wanna be a smart-ass, but looking at other packages which use the configure script style configuration, they mostly use 'solaris*' as

Disallow creation of (sub) folders
Hi. Is there a way to prevent users from creating new mailboxes? In our setup, we've several standard mailboxes (maildir format). Users should use these and only these. I allready tried to chown the base directory, e.g. /var/mailstore/r/remy/, to root, and delivery still works then, but procmail chown's this back to the users' name. I have a workaround by using symlinks, but I think

No 'from' in messages
Hi all, Over the weekend, we've migrated our old mail environment to Sendmail and Dovecot: - Dovecot 1.0 stable - Sendmail 8.13.3 - Procmail 3.22 Procmail is MDA for Sendmail and it delivers mail to Maildir boxes. Email clients like Eudora, Thunderbird, Outlook and mutt are working OK. When using Outlook Express and Pine however, in the message list the 'from' or

PDC migration: printing trouble.
Hi all, we've been moving an old Samba 2.2.x PDC install to a Samba 3.0.28 PDC install. We copied the ntdrivers.tdb and ntprinters.tdb from to old to the new server. After the migration, everything was just fine, except printing seemed to be somewhat slower. As more and more user logged on, the machine got really sluggish and printing took quite long. We figured out we've got bitten

Several issues with 1.0-stable
All, We have Dovecot 1.0-stable deployed in our 3000 users environment as of last weekend. Up untill now, I have 3 issues: - When stopping Dovecot with: kill -TERM `cat /var/run/dovecot/master.pid`, the 'dovecot' process itself dies, the 'imap-login' processes die, but the 'imap' processes (there are a lot of them) don't die, but become a zombie. I think the way

smbd using alot of cpu on HP-UX 11.11
Hello Danny Travis, I am assuming you are using generic Samba 2.2.3a version. We came across the problem and you can fix it by setting the cache variable on the devnm() system cal to 1. Just set the last parameter to the devnm() call in smbd/quotas.c to 1. ################################### # ./samba2.2/source/smbd/quotas.c # ################################### 912a913,919 > #ifdef

Samba 3.2.1 not detecting interface in Solaris 10 x86
Hi all, I'm currently in the process of testing Samba 3.2.1.x compiled for Solaris 10 x86, because there are some issues I have found with the default Sun supported 3.0.28a that I am trying to resolve. In the process of attempting to run up 3.2.1.x, I have found that when I issue an /opt/local/sbin/smbd -D, my samba log file results in: [2008/10/04 21:29:15, 0, pid=3059]

quotactl failed with disk quotas and dovecot 2.0
Hi, I have a machine running dovecot 2.0 rc4 and I can't seem to get the imap_quota plugin working, every time I try to read the quotas, I get the following in my log: > Aug 7 11:58:43 talyn dovecot: imap(chutz): Error: quotactl(Q_GETQUOTA, rootfs) failed: No such file or directory > Aug 7 11:59:53 talyn dovecot: imap(chutz): Error: quotactl(Q_GETQUOTA, rootfs) failed: No such file
