trying to figure out how the --delete option works.
I use this comand to back up my entirely drive to a second drive. Because the
second drive is smaller I have excluded my movies directory. I also excluded
the /mnt/ diectory, becous I dont want to back up the backup. This part works
just fine.
It's the --delete option I cant get to work. I want rsync to delete files on

Fw: VPN setup problem - proxy arp I think
Hi all,
I read the setup at http://www.blackh0le.net/articles/vpn-dun-howto.html to setup my VPN.
However, I'm having a problem which I think is proxy-ARP not working. I like to ask you to see if you know what's going on. When I ping 10.77.1.1 from windows XP machine the packets get to the 10.77.1.1 machine, but they don't have a return path to get back. When I do ping the windows

I downloaded eve, installed it into Wine, everything seem to go well, no problems.
However I when I run it it shows the prescreen and then seems to close itself and just shows the Wine Desktop.
When I run it in form the Command Shell this is what I get:

how to verify the connection between a Samba server and a Windows Xp client?
Hi, there,
I have 2 machines ( running Linux Red Hat 8.0 and Windows Xp individually),
which share a broadband Internet connection through a router.
After installing Samba 2.2.7.a on Linux machine, I can use "smbclient" to
access Windows machines, see the files and transfer files.

Offtopic: Mailing List was harvested
Just a quick note to those who care, I received a UCE this morning
addressed to samba-337@ccp.com.au, the only place this was used was when
emailing to this list. I can only conclude that either the list itself was
harvested or someone has gone through the archive and harvested that.
The Email actually came from 200.171.136.80 which has an abuse email

One question about Opus encoder
Hi, Opus team
I'm Huang Hao and trouble you again.
When I used the OpusRepacketizer as Jean-Marc mentioned, I got a result (maybe problem I'm not sure) that perplexes me, please give me some comments.
The result be described as below:
First(all init which are needed I have done), I used opus_encode() to get the encoded data successfully. The encoder control parameters are set: VBR=0,

[LLVMdev] Why function pointer is different from other data type?
"float (i32)* (float (i32)*)*" is not a return type.
According to the description of the 'call' instruction in LLVM Assembly
Language Reference Manual (http://llvm.org/docs/LangRef.html#i_call) this
is a signature of the pointer to function value being invoked (which
includes the return type). In your case the full signature is printed
because get_ptr returns a pointer to

compiz --replace ccp & AND libIndirectGL.so.1- Conundrum
Listmates,
I am narrowing down the reason that compiz will not autostart on my
Toshiba P35 laptop running openSuSE 10.3.
There seems to be a mutual exclusion between being able to do manual
start with "compiz --replace ccp &" and having compiz start at all with
"libIndirectGL.so.1" present in /usr/lib.
To get compiz to start on my system, I must manually rename the

Question about changing default metadata values (--with-default-plugins replacement)
Hi,
Now that --with-default-plugins has gone in compiz 0.5.1 (git), I was
looking for an alternative.
Although I've personally been using ccp and am quite happy with the GUI
tools now (so it will probably become default in my packages), I was
still looking for a way to define the default plugins uses if a gconf
backend was used.
So I patched core.xml.in as follows:

No 'core plugin'?
Hi.
I have posted this at the compiz-fusion forums also.
I was until a couple of days ago joyfully running the latest git version
of compiz. Today when I started it using a "compiz-manager" script
(after updating to the most recent) I got the following error:
/usr/bin/compiz (core) - Error: no 'core' plugin with ABI version

Remote printer access
We are trying to add remote PC access to a printer using Samba and the Network
Neighborhood. We are running Solaris 2.5.1 on our server and our PCs are running

The printer is a high-quality color Tektronics Phasor 450 PostScript printer
named hq_color_fl2. Access to our other printers has been set up previously
